I like the sound of the rules, love the hull points, means we can kill the feckers quicker, especially blooming Eldar tanks (looking at Rob  :wink;m::)

The idea that has been muted around it that GW wants to make the two systems closer rules wise, to encourage more people to try both systems..

So long as there is no bloody Mindrazor and the missions are more varied, i will love it...

More rumour/speculation but that stuff on allies apparently being in 6th Ed, check out the last page of GW's latest doubles rules pack..!

"Sanguinius. It should have been him. He has the vision and strength to take us to victory, and wisdom to rule once victory is won. For all his aloof coolness, he alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood. Each of us carries part of our father - Sanguinius holds it all." Horus

Read that this morning, doubt this is going to mean you can have allied forced as standard, its just the same as 8th Ed WFB where we have an allies chart for doubles games or big games, same as this GW event...

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

Do they ally with the rest of the hive? ;)

First up, we have the previous rumors talking about "Lore Equivalents" and the general pattern forming of a lot of WFB 8th concepts making their way into the game.  Here's the latest from the Bothans:

-There will be at least 4+ "Disciplines" of Psychic Powers in the game.  (WFB has 8 lores)
-Disciplines seem to fall roughly along the lines of the sects described in the novel "A Thousand Sons" as used by the Heresy-Era chapter.
-Each Discipline will have a "Default" power and a set of others that you will roll for each game.
-Number of rolls you get and the the exact details of which powers you end up with are said to be similar to WFB 8th's power selection mechanic.
-Powers have a "Casting Cost" that is different from the mechanic used in WFB 8th.
-Certain 6th Codices will add additional racial specific Disciplines.

Unknowns are things such as how all of this ties into the new Mastery Level (1-4) system we have seen in the Grey Knight book and the rumored Chaos Marine codex.  On balance this sounds like a streamlined faster version of the WFB magic phase, transposed into 40k.  I would assume that we would have to see Erratas to reclassify all the existing psykers in the game by Mastery Level, as well as the thorny issue of how to deal with the existing in-codex powers.

Sounding more and more like fantasy as these rules come out.

The mechanics of 8th are great IMO, best edition in a long time, so have no problem with 40k becoming related, just so long as the psychic phase does not completely over power the game like magic has 100% ruined WFB..
