Next is the dynamic leaping marauder, again I was aiming for a real sense of motion to the model, which took a while and I went through quite a few sets of legs trying to get it right! In the end this model has used parts from 5 different kits! (try naming them all!)

Well I'm stuck at 3, can't tell where the feet come from (or what part is from a fifth kit!).

Pleasure seeing you at the club, hoping we'll still see you from time to time. Sadly I can't make it on Thursday as am at a work away day, "what could be more fun?" I hear you  - virtually anything, I answer.

Slightly concerned the tone of this blog implies it's the last entry. Hope that's not the case! Looking forward to seeing more mad conversions up here!

Like the Phoenix I rise!!

Apologies to all that I've been absent for quite some time! A lot's been happening down in Bristol and time has just shot past. I've only just been able to get back into any semblance of hobby stuff!

I'm painting a few more bits for my nids at the moment and I will be about at Vanquish in April (even if not playing) so I can catch up with those of you who are down for that.

I've also grabbed the new Warriors of Chaos book recently and have been trying to work out a list for the heavy converted Khorne army that I started work on back in the summer! I've hit an awkward stalling point with what to get with the last few points.

For those who don't know me, my Warriors army with the old book was all rage, all the time, being entirely Khorne based and angry (not too different to the way I play other armies and 40k!). This army is planned to be entirely heavily converted as barbarian raiders from the north.

The first part of the list I have worked out is:

Lord
Daemon Prince (355 points)
Mark of Khorne
Chaos Armour
Daemonic Flight
Soul Feeder
Flaming Breath
Charmed Shield
Dragonbane Gem

hero
Exalted Hero (224 points)
Battle Standard
Shield
Halberd
Scaled Skin
Mark of Khorne
Talisman of Preservation
Ironcurse Icon

Scyla (105 points)

Core
5 Chaos Hounds (30 points)

5 Chaos Hounds (30 points)

40 Marauders (350 points)
Full command
Mark of Khorne

17 Chaos Warriors (370 points)
Mark of Khorne
Full Command
Shields
Halberds

Special
Gorebeast Chariot (140 points)
Mark of Khorne

Chimera (275 points)
Flame Breath
Regeneration

Rare
3 Skull Crushers (254 points)
Standard and musician.

So that's the list I've got so far, which totals 2133, leaving me with 267 points to play with, and I'm not sure what to add to the list. I've narrowed it to a few possibilities, which are:

(option 1)
Add in a Shaggoth with 2HW for 220 points and then use the 47 leftover possibly towards a Spawn or other fun-ness! (I'm thinking of possibly doing a mammoth conversion for the army for this)

(option 2)
a second chimera with regeneration for 245 points, leaving a spare 22 for tinkering. (This might allow me to use some sort of other big gnarly monster model)

(option 3)
5 chaos Knights for 245 with ensorcelled weapons, mark of khorne, musician and standard.

I'm personally leaning more towards a shaggoth, but that might be just because I want to make a mammoth for the army (i was originally planning to do a mammoth as a Slaughterbeast, but they're awful!). I'm also thinking that a second chimera might lead the list to get hit with a few comp sticks in future.

Any thoughts?

Welcome back to the land of the living (well geeks with time on their hands).

I'd go with the shaggoth - it probably best fits your army concept and knights aren't that great.

You could go with dragon ogres or more crushers as an alternative.
