Hi Guys.

Ok, here are my ideas. They came to me in a dream.

30 Flagellants. 10 x 3.

How many attacks would they get? I reckon the front rank get their full quota ie 21(with champion) and then the next two ranks get one each for the horde rule...? So 41 attacks over all. Sacrifice the little monkeys and get re rolled to hit and to wound with S5 and there's a big hole in whatever they are wailing on. CR all over the floor... Oh yeah, and they aren't going anywhere either...just in case you fluff...

Here's my other idea.

40 Lothern Sea Guard - 10 x 4 (conveniently this accounts for 25% of a 2250) - ish

Fighting now in two ranks for spears, plus one for martial prowess plus one more for horde ? = 41 S3 Attacks.

Charge them?

Stand and shoot with 30 shots at BS4 S3. I reckon that this means 15 hits, 7 wounds, 3/4 dead....enough?

Should bring a few down and then they get 1st go at handing out the pie with ASF - iphones everywhere! CR up the ying yang!

What do you lot think of that?

Am I badly wrong or just delusional, wouldn't be the 1st time.

The only thing I've thought of with the hordes is if you run into a 5x5 traditional unit alot of those attacks just don't happen. Just a thought though. Great fun battling horde on horde but not sure how often it'll happen or make that much difference.

I may be wrong though not read rulebook yet.

There is the potential for truck loads of attacks from units such as you mention, if you want purely shred hammer Minos probably get it!

What you have to remember is they can get shot to snot, also the flaggies will go last as they are great weapons (even if they charge) as they are unarmoured T3 WS3 you might not have many left when it gets to your turn.

Make the seaguard 2 20s. They get fight in 2 ranks, 3 with spears, 4 with martial prowess. 5 if with horde!

As I understand it, this is the case.  So against 5 wide you'll get 7 x however many ranks back fighting but not the whole 10.  Still increases your damage output a bit and as they're unbreakable it's not as if you care about the combat res.

Do flails strike last in 8th? as thats what flagelants are armed with.

You can add another rank if you like go for 51 Attacks - as the second rank get to fight for free anyway (+spears, Martial prowess and horde) - that's what they did in one of the sample armies in White Dwarf. Why stop at 40?!
