Following on from my conversation with Ol last night,
What are people's favorite movie soundtracks (if your in to that kind of thing)
I've got a fairly big collection but I'm sure there are some great ones i'm missing out on.
So list away!

I quite like the soundtracks from all 3 matrix films (especially the 2nd and 3rd) for some classical/metal stuff.

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

obv. Star Wars soundtracks (iconic), a lot of Nymans soundtracks, and the one that is frequently on my ipod- Beauty and the Beast.

Simple.

The Movie soundtrack from the greatest film EVER!... and I mean EVER!!

The Blues Brothers

(the 1st one... not that sham of a sequel)
In the summer of 2011 he moved North... spreading the word of House OG.

I am Mike of House OG.  Ogger in the North.  And Ginger is coming.

Veldemere

Never been able to get into the Blues Brothers, always just looks like 2 fat men who are a little too old to be doing what they are doing and having more fun making a film than the viewer has watching it. Oh, and their voices are particularly ropey!!

Flashdance for reasons of nostalgia - first tape I ever owned. (Probably explains a lot).

Currently - Bladerunner.

Edit - and also The Mission.

Daft Punk - Tron Legacy

I didn't think the film was that great, but if you viewed it as an extended music video it was a good journey. Unfortunately listening to the CD in the car doesn't quite work as well, it's a bit too quiet for my liking, but has some great tracks nonetheless. If you're into Daft Punk, check out Track 13 - Derezzed, fantastic stuff.

Apart from that, the only one I've every bought is the Lion King, which was a fair while ago!

Daft Punk. Tron Sondtrack. Tracks 12 and 13 esp....

FANTASTIC!!!!!

Can not stop listening to this (ta Noah), it is fantastic, the end titles track, is superb...
(from the 'music people are in to' thread)

Ah, how this whole thing started!
Ol, a few I forgot to mention, How To Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda (ignoring the stupid cover of kung fu fighting with cee-lo green and jack black)

My list of favorites would be quite long, but just off the top of my head...

Tron Legacy
Iron Man
King Arthur
Master and Commander
Starship Troopers
Conan
HTTYD
......
then the slightly more cheesey...
Labyrinth
Flash Gordon

Was a massive Blues Brothers fan back in the day, although The Commitments is miles above BB.

There are some good but overplayed sound tracks.
Gladiator is a prime example. Its fantastic, but played just too many times and makes me feel a bit sick now.
Pirates is similar, as is harry potter, though actually I was never a big fan of the harry potter soundtracks.

The point brought up last night was if a film has an amazing soundtrack, invariably the film its self is a bit naff. there are obvious exections, but looking at my top 7 there, with the exception of iron man the sound track is alot better than the film!

Ol, saw this and wondered if you knew...

'Zimmer began his career playing keyboards and synthesizers. He worked with The Buggles, a New Wave band formed in 1977. Zimmer can be seen briefly in The Buggles' music video for the 1979 song "Video Killed the Radio Star".'
