Are we excited about WFB 8th?

This may seem like an odd thing but through talking to people at tournies, online and in clubs I'm not sure people are excited about 8th edition.

So here's a question: Are we Excited or Nervous about WFB 8th?

I for one am both as I don't want to see 8th become too much like 40k by dumbing down massively but I can see why they would do it to a)make it more accessible to new players moving over from 40k and b)limit the over sophistication of a rules system that has been around for so long that any new book has to UP the level of beard and cheese. But at the same time I want to see a rebalancing of the game.

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts.

Im curious...

I think alot of people on the Tourney Scene are worried because if its done well we might find ourselves in a situation where tactics are needed and the usual filth lists become unusable....

At which point alot of players who just use the Daemon / DE crutch will be found out!

Of course thats a big 'IF'....

Nervous that the game gets too simple!

Excited that HERO/MONSTER Hammer may be at an end.

Unfortunately with so little input from real players I expect they will screw it up!

I'm entirely undecided until I've had a read through a shiney new rulebook, until then it could go so far either way!

Looking forward to it.  If the internet rumours are true then it seems like they are re-doing a lot of the clunky mechanics (like movement!)  out and speeding the whole thing up, which would be great, and may convince me to start playing again.

It's like a new game that I already own the miniatures for!

I am looking forward to it; having stuck with a largely infantry based goblin army through the growth of hero/ monster in 7th ed I'm looking forward to some payback and people saying things like "hoard armies are so broken!"

hoping for block hammer is all. other than that i'm just ignoring all the rumours and waiting till i get the book in my hands for a good read though
