Impfest II (Sat 19th June)

I've got  a re-match against Mr. Richards, Delves on Delves.

I imagine Dragon, Pendant, Hydra and Ring of Hotek, now avaliable again from the Argos Cataloge.

Tom Richards is a lvl 4 Peg, focus familiar man. That's what he used at the last Impfest anyway. He might have changed since then so don't take this as gospel.

Well I know what to do against that army, I was more worried about the dragon lord with pendant and hotek. I think I've got enough fast moving stuff to catch the flyign bint, maybe...

1. Dave Walton (Empire) vs Tom Hale (Dark Elves): Dreadlord Jack H has often stated than Empire is often one of the more tricky matchups for everyones' favourite elf army. The cannons keep the Dragon and Hydra from coming out to play and the 30" crossbows trump the move and fire Rxbs. As long at the Harpies can occupy the cannons and the Shades have a nice wood to decimate the crossbows from without taking return fire, I reckon this will be a win to Tom.
Prediction: 12-8 to Tom

2. Tom Payne (Ogres) vs James Stilwell (Skaven): Tom is a good player so I suspect he won't get battered but the inherent power of the Skaven will still see him lose.
Prediction: 14-6 to Skaven

3. Ol "I hate Daemons" Knesebeck (DoC) vs John Southgate (Beasts): The internet states that Daemons are The Sh1ZzLe. It also points out that Beasts are not. The net is never wrong.
Prediction: Ol wins 18-2 and declares his love for Daemons.

4.  Tom Richards (DE) vs Andy Parker (DE):  Normally I would say whoever wins the Shadeoff scouting roll for that prime wood is likely to win. However, Andy beat Tom's DE at Watford using High Elves! Imagine what is going to happen now Andy is using Dark Elves.
Prediction: Andy leaves Tom crying in a corner.

5.  Ed Hamon (HE) vs Paul Fordham (DE): The worst matchup for HEs. They move, magic, shoot and fight better. Even a Star Dragon doesn't make that much difference as the DEs just occupy it whilst decimating the rest. Without knowing whether Ed is amazing against DEs, I will have to go for a DE win.
Prediction: 16-4 to the DEs.

6. Reece White (HE) vs Clive Kershaw (DE): Reece is surprisingly good, and confident,  against Dark Elves mainly because he has to play against them every week. Added to the fact that he was rather pleased with this draw(!), I reckon this will be tight .
Prediction: 12-8 DE win.

7. Simrandeep Pone (VC) vs Steve Hursell (DoC): Both armies are ItP. My poor, fluffy WS2 Skeletons lose out to those masters of combat Tz Horrors, let alone the double Flesh Hound, double Jugger Herald hideousness that Steve is fielding. 
In summary: Daemons >>>>>> Vampires.
Prediction: The underpowered Vampires lose 14-6.

God damn gunlines. Just my luck. It will depend a lot on the terrain but I might just run right at him: target saturation might let something get through. Roll for first turn will be key.

Just do what I did against Steve - shove your Hydra across the board, out in the open. Take 3 cannon balls right in the face in the first turn, regen 2 of them up and take 1 wound from the other

I might be coming, so it will be me using a tomb kings army as the beasts are not painted yet.

Nice rundown simran,  Nice to see 2 DEs face each other.  Mr Walton is also a DE player and he hates them with a passion so it will be good to see what happens.

Having seen the lists I think it would be wrong for me to make predictions on the first round.

If Rob shows up he will have to either play me first game or a random table will be re-drawn (one half playing Rob, one playing me).

We'll have to wait and see.
