I'm not getting the train up I'm afraid - my cousin Steve is driving, so I'm going to meet him and head up in the car with Steve H. Does mean we probably won't get there til about 9ish! No happy hour for us

Ed and I from Spiky are getting a lift up now from the guy who won the Milon Keynes Massacre as he lives near us. Like you though we're not living till 6pm so we're not goign to get there until 9 or 10pm, so no slap talk and practise games for us.

Back we are, good event, shame about the PA system that meant once again, we could not hear anything, not sure there is any viable solution in a sports hall like that...

Finshed 57th out of 112 players, on 3 wins and 3 losses. 1 of the wins was by 15 VP's and 1 of the losses was by 200 VP's, If this had been a 20-0 system, I think it would reward players more to go for it, rather than play unltra safe as was the case in many game.

comp, not sure anything needs doing but a few things were evident -

- dwellers too strong
- cupped hands too strong
- 100vps as a 'win' encourages negative hammer

This was Ant's thoughts on what has been learnt so far. And I agree even though I took Lizards.

Dwellers won me 1 game hands down and cost me one game, combine this with a feedback scroll or a Book of Hoeth you have a Hobby killer.

35+ strong Horror blocks as the core, giving the DoC general an extra lvl 4, that is excellent in the scenarios as well, has got to go.

And asides from comp, stop picking player judges who are going to be on the top tables and far too involved to answer questions, and stop picking them on name only, just because you are in the top 20 does not mean he/she knows the rules better than anyone else.

The amount of farcical rulings I had to prove were wrong over the wknd was amazing. I know 8th is new, but lets have some consistency chaps.
My last opponent was shall we say 'trying' and his grips on the rules, 'distorted', this was not help by the refs ruling against me and with him, and then further time had to be wasted as I had to show them the book or FAQ, to prove that I was indeed quite correct.

Ie) Even with half the top tables covered with LM players all with sallies doing the same thing (Bobo on table 2), the grief I got about Sallies marching and shooting was amazing, and 15 minutes of gritting my teeth. They are skirmishers, and it's not a breath weapon, clear as mud in the rules, so get over it, not nice but then facing a HellPit, a WLC and a Wheel is not either..
