Right, draw's up...

Anyone else fancy conceding game 1 then going to watch Leggy v Tamplin!

It is tempting!
Looks like I've drawn someone fairly decent, and I reckon he may bring dwarves - in which case perhaps I'll leave the stegs at home...

Depending on the mission though Jack, the Stegs might come in handy, at least he will be shooting them and not the units that are key to the mission, ie capture the watchtower..

Im bringing 2 babies. for throw away amusement and the odd poison bolt thrower hit always helps...

Yeah, I will probably still bring them, even if they just end up as expensive target practice in some games. Also, I can't face painting any more units before the weekend!

Against armies without stone throwers/cannons they are still awesome - and now you get to yell 'Thunderstomp!', which I particularly enjoy.

Who where applicable is bringing a dispel scroll?

I dont know whether to bring a lvl 1 caddy or simply rely on a becalming slann?

Bearing in mind IMO, 8th Ed is won or lost on who can cast the first uber spell.. :bash;m:

Dave

No scrolls for me.

Out of interest what lore are the lizzies players going for?

khaosgoblin

I am not bringing a dispel scroll for four reasons:

1) Trying to hold it back for the uber spell which ussually ends up irresitable anyway is a pain.
2) I have no single unit i care about its all a bunch of Goblins afterall
3) Ran out of points in my hero allowance.
4) I am trying to just accept that big nasty spells will affect me & focus on trying to kill wizards.

As i am likely to be facing either DOC or DE in the first round this my well be a tragic mistake, but at least there is plenty of cheap beer & nice armies to look at.

I think there are two stand out choices for a slann: life and light.

Still haven't entirely decided which to go for. Life is a bit more 'no-brainer' I guess - very defensive and great for healing back stegs, T boosts and the subtle tactic of 6-dice Dwellers.
I find Light more fun, I've managed to grind out swordmasters with a big block of spear-saurus doing the Time Warp with the Speed of Light combo. Couple of handy magic missiles too.
Oh, and the I 10 spell gives you a bit of protection from the Purple Sun of Game-wrecking.

Tricky one...

Only got 1 wizard and I've gone for focus familiar ad my 1 arcane item. I've found that the uber spells are mostly irisistable any way, and familiar is too good to give up

Only taking the slann, no other characters, feels wierd... :))
