Lovely swarms, don't know how much modelling you've done, but they do like they're scuttling out out of the earth! I want to paint some swarms, think this will effect my next army choice!!

Steve, already owned him, I'd picked up a mixed VC batch off ebay a few years back which included pretty much all the special characters, 10 odd carrion, 12 wraiths, a bunch of skellys, skelly horse, zombies and 30 mummies.  So most of it will make it's way into my VC or TK armies as and when they get painted up all for a steal because it was horrendously badly painted and poorly displayed when it was sold.  Also where I got my heirotitan from (Nagash).

Matt - Swarms were done by the very complex method of gluing them to the base then once dry and undercoated I slapped some pva around the base and dumped it in a bucket of sand, so some of it was touching the figs so they got a bit burried and I just brushed the worst of it off, because as you say 'it came from below' means that looks sensible.   sand is then painted with Iyander Darksun or the other foundation yellow as I forget the name, then drybrushed with some white mixed in.  Painting bugs was just slapped on brown, then boltgun metal then a few washes.

Someone else with OCD about square/rectangular units!!! Why on earth would I ever want 17 of anything?! Too many times I have been cursed by bad unit sizes!!!

Following my OCDness of the last post I've now reversed that with a 16 man 3x5+1 unit!



With that I'm up to 366 for the year so I've achieved my 1 per day target, woot!

Cheers Gents, with hitting the target I can now kick back and relax for the rest of the year and I will definitely not be setting myself the same target for next year.  That said I've got 4 carrion and 3 warwalkers on the painting table right now, so might get a bit beyond the target number!

I'll need to revisit my new years resolutions to work out what I want out my hobby time next year.  I think it will be considerably less intensive than this year!

10 Horse Archers (140pts)



Amazing how simply changing the base colour makes these guys look loads better, but went for a full repaint anyway.
