As promised here's my on theme addition - Steggy number 2.  No base, crew or armament as yet (tempted to leave the weapons options off as if it's a regular steg I never use the giant bow now it's slow to fire).

Model started out as an airbrush and dip job then matt varnished (army painter) down and highlighted the flesh up with kommando khaki and then bleached bone before getting an ogryn flesh and baal red wash (~4:1).  The scales got a  wash of thrakka green.

Really happy with how it came out in the end, another really fun model to paint even with it being the second one I'd done.

Then I got the urge to paint another malifaux figure tonight so decided to basecoat the Executioner.  Well 3 hours later he was done!  This model was a joy to paint, no fiddly little detail of pouches and the likes just a tonne of character and a really sweet area of flesh to work with.  For those that don't know it's a 40mm base he's on so a bit larger than a normal fig, but not much bigger maybe 35mm to tip of his head.

So nobody likes the steg or exec then  Ok I'm not really traumatised  :wink;m::

Next up has been another malifaux guy, part of my second crew the Death Marshals and first off (well second really as the exec is pretty much part of that crew) is a death marshal (you see what they've done with the imaginative naming there).

Excellent work sir. The yellow and blue work so well together. I really love Malifaux models, such good sculpts and they really are a joy to paint, aren't they? I doubt you'll ever finish the Lizzies  :wink;m::

Though I have to say the painter they get to do all the studio paint jobs sometimes scares me a little, he's way too good....
There is no problem in life that can't be solved with Heroic Killing Blow:
Plague Furnace, Abomination, Hydra, Wyvern, Arachnarok, Engine of the Gods, Zombie Dragon, Vargulf, Hellcannon. To be continued...

If we assume that there are infinite universes, then in at least one of them, I'm banging Emma Watson. Awesome!

Sorry I was going to say I really liked the Steg, when you first posted but got distracted by making up rubbish for April Fool's Day! The others are good to (he says carefully treading on egg shells! - I know what you mean though, no one commented on my Shakeaway banner     )

Really good paint job on the malifaux stuff, your colour selection is really in keeping with the mood of the game, loads of character. I am not the biggest fan of their kind of steampunk but you do make them look purty.

Don't you guys know? The interwebs are only for criticism, not praise. I'd take no comments as a very good thing

Yeah couldn't agree more, they practically paint themselves.  Such fantastic details but then they don't have all the pointless baggage of pouches and crap which warhammer models all seem to require, so you can spend your time focussing on painting the enjoyable bits and not messing about tidying up fiddly little bits everywhere.

The early stuff was done by a mixed bag of artists but they clearly got a guy who's a master at source lighting involved at some stage and since then it's just been ridiculous how good most of the stuff looks.  Even all the grimy and undead figs look fantastic and that's usually something I'm not a massive fan of.

The lizzies will be finished!  I have 30ish saurus to paint next and then I think I'll have a pretty much fully legal 2400ish pts army.  It won't be the most effective of builds but should still work fine for my mid to low table requirements!  Ideally I want to get a load more saurus cav painted up so I can de-optimise the army even more!  On which I took some more pics of the skink krox unit with the krox in place.
