Instead of a social life I've got this:

Bashed out the other day before work/in break at lunchtime and then based up yesterday.

Finished off the stormvermin, a nice unit of 40 now.

And added a couple more models to use as characters in a Plague Priest and a Chieftain (Old metal stormvermin champion)

That now completes the army which I'm lending to Mr Wildman for Midlands, though he is providing the Verminlord and the combat grindy weapons team as I've not got them.

Really glad I've done these guys now as every time I've used the army I thought clanrats were rubbish and really wished I had something which could fight.  When I use the army I'll probably be rocking the skavenbrew on a chieftain and putting a fighty warlord in the unit too.

Impressive and quick as always, well done on finishing the Skaven!

Now done the first couple of troll models for my O&G army.  These two are from the reaper 'bones' range.  Cost about £2-3 each off the top of my head, made out of a strange slightly rubbery soft plastic like you get a lot of kids toys.  Makes cleaning the mould lines a bit tricker as don't just scrape off you actually have to cut them, but seemed to take an undercoat (halfords grey primer) and then paint without any issue.

Pretty happy with how they came out, got another couple of these guys but also a bunch of the metal reaper trolls to do next.  Overall got 12 trolls for <£50 by using reaper rather than GW's 3 for £36

Painted up a malifaux figure as a break from all the warhammer stuff I've been churning out recently.  Still love their models so much more, was an absolute pleasure to paint.  I think it's because they don't have any pointless detail on them, everything just makes sense.  He's a guild guard, so basically a policeman with a slight suggestion of basically being the military at the same time!

Armed with a sword, couple of pistols, a rather handsome moustache and goatee combo and a hat.  No silly feathers, excessive pouches and all the other guff you get strapped to most warhammer models.

Dave

An afternoon off work before going on holiday tomorrow turned in to a great painting session.

Joining in the rush of players to 'non-rage quit' warhammer I'm basically unlikely to play anymore events this year with the possible exception of my local club one dayer.  I'm not actually quitting in the least as still really enjoying painting up my O&G army at the moment (currently working on a unit of 12 trolls).

But in my step away from warhammer I am getting to play in my first malifaux tournament, another event at a local store that's 30ish mins away from Edinburgh, it's a 12 player event with 3 rounds using 2 fixed crews.  All of that has spurred me on to finish painting off all my Malifaux models.

Neverborn Lelu, Lilitu and Wicked dolls

So with everything I own now being painted (with the exception of the couple of limited edition boxes I bought that I'm holding off on opening for now).

For some reason that guild guard model reminds me of Clint Eastwood, heh. As usual looking lovely Dave, you'll have to let us know what competitive malifauz is like. Maybe it can be anothe game I buy models for and never paint or play...
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Dave

Now up to 5 of my 12 trolls painted.  Running out of 40mm bases though so gonna have to dig through boxes before I can continue!
