Im my defence Dave, I've had the O&G since I was 8 - some of them were painted while I was still in primary school!

Edit - recognised th Rock Lobba too - think that was me 'an all!

I'm really enjoying the subdued colour scheme for the Orcs - shame about the boar tails  :sad;m:

Boars don't have tails... At least none of the ones I've received have, being related to pigs I could always add some nice greenstuff fleshy curly tails to them, but not sure that fits the rest of the model that well...  Glad you like the tones, very much something I wanted with this army as I find a lot of O&G armies a bit garish. Will be an interesting challenge when it comes to the mangler squigs as to whether I can get a more natural red tone.  My initial thoughts are red, purple wash, brown wash might well get something close to what I want.

Jal, I figured they were pretty old, there were all the hallmarks of being done as a kid.  For example the wolf rider who'd been stuck on a base in the unit of gobbos to clearly bulk out the numbers, standing on tiptoes with cloak making it impossible to sit on a wolf due to blocking between the legs.  Made me wonder whether that was an assembly mistake or deliberate but gave me a chuckle either way.

So far of your stuff I've done a bunch of the skull pass night gobbos, Rock lobba, doom diver, orc chariot and the wolf riders.  Next up are the savage orcs.  After them I'm pretty much done with everything I bought off you.  The remaining orc boyz and other 3 wolf riders probably don't make the cut and I haven't picked up any more squigs yet to turn the ones I got from you into a unit.

That leaves the troll, wyvern and fanatics which I'll no doubt end up painting up at some point but prioritising stuff to turn this into the generic TM army at present so probably another 20 odd savage orcs, 3 wolf chariots, another rock lobba, another doom diver and some mangler squigs & pump wagons.  I think I've now got everything I need except 10 more savage orcs, the manglers and one pump wagons (I'm gonna scratch build it, neither of mine will be the stock model).

Haha I remember all my old boars lost their tails too, very annoying! Managed to find enough to keep my Tuskgor's tails there!! Yeah it's a nice look - I think if I ever did Orcs & Goblins they'd end up garish too!! Are you thinking the Squigs will come out a deep reddish-brown? That would look nice.

You aren't helping my urge to paint up my Orcs & Goblins from Battle of Skull Pass. How hard can it be to paint 60 Night Goblins?!

Not difficult at all, I found I rattled them out in production line stylee with next to no effort, that said I've only painted 50 archers not the spear ones, so who knows they may be a technical nightmare, though I doubt it.

Dark red/brown is exactly what I'm after, I'm trying to think of some animal from nature which is of that shade and struggling but there must be something that put it in my head I'm sure.

I am exceptionally slow though!

I am thinking of types of horse that colour - roughly the colour the old Dark Flesh paint was.

Going back to an earlier edition I've painted up these guys.

I really like the skin tone. It works nicely with the purple.
Bought: 20

I actually found them all being the same was a benefit. Didn't have to worry about finding all the pouches etc on each different model!

Think I have another 40 of these guys still to paint up but want to get the savages done first.
