I was looking at red and off white, pretty common and classic, but only done that on some knights so far so might just use them as reiksguard and pick another scheme.

The Trampoline

I'm working on some all red state troops trying to emulate the troops on the cover of the 7th edition book.

Not much white there, but decided to do the feathers/plumes as white but finding it a nightmare, any suggestions?

Apologies for the slight delay in response Andy, in simple terms, not really sure.  All red is likely to cause difficulties, not knowing the state troops models that well have they got much by way of straps and the likes that you could pick out?  Other than that I'm not really sure.

Or did you mean painting white?  In which case the recent update to the paints range might render my help somewhat unhelpful!  I always do white as a dheneb stone base colour (if going for a natural warm white, a light grey for a colder tone).  Give that a was to define the crevices and then highlight back up with white on the extreme raised areas.

On seperate news I did some terrain for the SCGT, was really nice to paint something completely different for a change.  3 bits from the wonderful garden of morr kit to add to my options (tower was already painted).

Jal

Err, Dave - odd thought. I think I may have actually done a trade with you on TWF before.....

Dave

Yup, I realised it a while back that I bought some O&G stuff from a 'jal' I'm dafruk on all the forums where I'm not Dave, I'm always buying stuff miles out for several projects ahead and forget who I pimp what from! I'm in the process of working on those guys, I think the doomdiver up above was your one, take it you recognised it?

Dave

First batch of night gobbos done 60 more to go.

Dave

Done my first Orc, quite happy with how the scheme came out.

Jal

Didn't recognise it per se, but more was thinking "hmm, that was Dave from Scotland...wait a sec, did I not post something to Dave...."

Excellent scheme, and I love that model - classic Rock Lobba crew! My favourite is the one with boulder in hand.

Procrastination by Numbers - Update 146:

I'm painting classic Dwarfs!! PbN Update 146

Dave

oh, so he is actually part of the crew, as he didn't have anything remotely warmachine like I assumed he was just randomly stuck in with it.  The other 2 are obviously WM crew and look much weedier.

I think I might use him as a black orc boss as I like the model so much and amn't likely to have any non-savage orcs in the list.
