Updated pics of the tank.  Just need to get the clear plastic bits done, realised I want to paint the struts on it as looks crap when all clear. 







Anyone know the normal approach to basing tanks which are skimmers?  Think it was provided with a large flying base but I'd imagine that will snap afer 5 mins so was going to get it on some brass rod but don't know what to do about a base.

No bases needed buddy, especially for skimmers (for the smaller ones though the new ball and socket flying stands are ace)

I would agree that the transparent plastic bits they give you are not really suitable for such a large skimmer. Although you don't HAVE to use one, they look much better raised up, and you want your dudes to be able to shoot under it If it was me I'd be temped to go brass rod into a larger custom base, or some up with some other way to support it. Maybe some kind of mini tripod arrangement.

Proper one, I'd be amazed if the GW spraygun had enough control to do blending. Total kit was less than £100.

The one I have is ref 45643 but I wish I'd gotten the tank with it, doesn't make much difference for noise but as pumps get older they can be a bit more variable in their pressure and the tank helps regulate it.  But the compressor has worked a dream so far

The usual basing I've seen for Eldar tanks, is to get a 60mm base with some thick-ish brass rod. Granted it has no in-game effect but it looks good, and lets you theme the base into the army somewhat.

Fantastic paint job, Dave. Those blue gems really do it.
