I'm not too sure if a shade is 'a little guy'

no, it's the paints and lighting I have.. I am using windsor and newton galeria artists acrylics, and far too bright lighting! (and an old camera that just about has a macro feature)

oh, and an old gw paint used on the base edge.  anyone know what it might be, its a really old paint, with no label.
