Rich what are the loopholes for demons I'll fix this

Ol I'll find out tomorrow how much it is, I don't think it's much and the bar prices are subsidised as a result I'm sure the black stuff is cheaper than norm

I'll possibly be in on this one

In that the GT comp has worked on DE but really done nothing for DoC, ie they can still have 3 optimal greater demons, with all the other races having even less ways to deal with them (by losing the double rare slot for instance)
I as TK with the comp, would have one SSC and a King with Flail of skulls that could hope to take on a GD, all with a massive 4DD and 2 scrolls to deal with the magic....
Best comp IMO

Excellent....

Ol, what touneys were "ruined" by the Deamon lists?

Wasn't like either WinterWar or Impfest was won by DoC lists.

Hell, the DoC players that went to WinterWar were scattered throughout the results, and at Impfest we had six different armies as the top 6.

They can have only 2 optimal GD's under the comp. KoS sucks without Siren Song or Banner of Despair, and the BT is pants without the hatred, as it just dies when it wiffs a single round of combat. Only extra comp that needs to be added for the GD's is that the Chicken's +2to cast gift = 1PD and reroll 1 dice per turn = 1PD. For the GUO I'm not sure, as he can be chucked down a pit, die to Static CR from a normal unit of infantry etc, so I think that he's okay under the comp (he is a massive points sink - so you have to be careful how you play him).

Shame I can't make this one.

Not saying that the DoC are by any means "soft" under the SoCo rules, but they are far from "ruining" any event.

Somebody bringing a copy of the DoC army book along to a tournament is enough to ruin it.

Leaving one in the car park is just as bad.

lol, although I am not quite that bad.

It is more that comp has 'top skimmed' the optimal builds of most of the recent armies, but just disallowing the one build that came 4 out of the top 7 places in the GT heat I went to is not damaging the DoC book more than preventing the toughest builds.  Grant, a GUO can be killed by any of the things you say, along with a few other things in the game, but it takes a lot more to kill a GD!

It is, perhaps, a personal opinion not shared by many others and therefore does not require a fix.

The arguement of 6 different armies in the top 6 is not evidentiary given the spread of armies in the tourney and is perhaps more of a a way in which some can make themselves feel that this has balanced all army books to 'equal', I am not so sure. I wasn't at the tourney so wouldn't want to speak too highly about relative power levels. If you are trying to use stats to prove a balance, would it not also be correct to say that half the daemons there finished in the top 2?

You can never judge much from a 18 man event.  The power level of Daemons is still there and as grant says he is killable, but it takes a lot of work for a M6 monster worth 670 +100 to die.

DE's are heavily comped which is good and takes away the most obvious builds but the top 2 armies can still take hard/abuseable lists in comparasions to other lists.

Being a kings player as well there is a small chance for me to kill a GUO but then you have the rest of the army.

Undead Dan

I don't think Daemons comp is too bad, but I might add the following:
-Twin Heads (+2 to cast) counts as 1 power dice
-Banner of Sundering counts as 1 dispel dice
-Balesword can't be combined with Noxious Vapours
-Daemonic BSBs may have Gifts OR a Daemonic Icon, but not both

And sorted.
