Just reading Skaven book now, have some questions, will add as I come across them. If anyone in the know just reply please

Q1:Does the Spell  'Crack's Call' affect a Steam Tank?

Spell has no strength value so I would assume no a la same logic for Pit of Shades.

Q2: Is the Plague Spell 'Pestilient Breath' a flaming or breath attack? i.e. does it affect models ammune to the effects of both breath and flaming attacks?

1) does cracks call not say war machines & Chariots are destroyed on a 5+ ? i'd say that pretty much covers a Steam Tank.

2) Pestilens breath is a breath weapons.... why would it be flaming?... it doesnt mention fire or flaming anywhere.  Just like a black dragon breath.

1) Steam Tanks are neither War Machines or Chariots -> they are  bastard child of both. They have a rule which states that they cannot be damaged or killed by non strength magic -> therefore I say it is safe.

2) I just included Flaming /Breath as it was in relation to Dragon Princes. So its breath so no issue, cheers mike

Well there is a Beatsman magic weapon that get S10 against Warmachines and chariots and it says that includes steam tanks, war altars, corpse carst, war shrines etc...

With Skaven and BoC books pointing the way 8th Ed is going to go, I think Steam tanks won't be that safe any more..IMO Cracks call works on tanks (and so it bloody should, after all if it can hurt a building, it shoud easy take out a tank)

I'd like to think they'd FAQ it that cracks call can kill a Skank as it can kill everything else.....

even buildings.

@ olaf: re bestmen against the tank, the reason it works is that it specfically includes it in the list of affected units in the spells affect. i think this will come down to the wording of the steam tank entry, but i think its safe as well (but hell just stick a warplighting cannon shot though its nose)

Exactly, until the FAQ names the STANK, its own rule overrules the Skaven Book.

I think it's safe for the moment, but will probabaly be in trouble come 8th ed.

Next dwarf book will have an  Uberstank with lazerbeams.  Pew pew.  That's where the squats went!
