Painting Contest 3 - The Little Guy! (Entry Thread)

Welcome one and all to the third OG Games painting contest! 

If there are 10 or more entries, there will be a £10 OG Games gift voucher up for grabs for the winner (Mods can enter, but cannot win the prize. If a mod comes first the prize will be deferred to the second place figure)

The theme is A single basic troop

This competition has a broad theme so I expect loads of entries.  Entries should contain one model. This should not be a unit champion or sergeant, they should be the basic common footslogger for the army.
 
Some ideas for this contest are:
-From space hulk/40K (a basic guardsman, a basic ork etc)
-From fantasy (an Empire Spearman, goblin warrior basic zombie etc.)

The final date for entries for this competiton is midday on Saturday 13th March 2010, so you've all got loads of time

Looks nice, are the things nailled to his shield meant to be tounges, or should I not ask...

Initially I'd invisaged them as some sort of Chaos 'favours' in the same way as medieval knights were given them at tournaments but as soon as I'd made them I thought ' hmm , tongues' !
So , yeah ,they're Demons tongues :-)

Here are a few WIP shots of my Empire militia chap; 5pts of Free Company goodness with a hook hand. First sprayed white and with his legs painted (and skin with a base coat to stop him looking too duff):





And "finished", but he will need to be popped off his base and stuck to a decking one (I have some pre-prepared kicking about somewhere).  I obviously when through a phase of making green stuff moustaches for the pirates... cos hook hands, peg legs, pistols and cutlasses clearly don't say "Yar Jim lad!" loud enough.
   
Ever so slightly fuzzy... I'll do some better ones when he is mounted on his finished base and I'll put him beside some fitting scenery, so none of these are to be submitted as my final offering.
