Anyone feeling underwhelmed by the forthcoming Beastmen?

Ok, so I saw the new minos in the flesh today for the first time and they are nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. They seem to be a vast leap forward from the last ones and whilst I would still greenstuff out some of the abdominal muscles they are actually quite pretty.

God no, that thing is a lost cause and all extant figures needs melting down to make a giant metal butt plug to be rammed up the arse of the designer to stop them from putting any more of this $hit into the shops!

Bottom left one that is blackish looks great, if you click the picture you can see the whole unit.  Turns out you can make them look nice with a good paintjob.

Had my first proper game with the new beasts last night, they are going to take some getting used to! A few observations though, this army is hugely vulnerable to any form of psychology ld9 is nice but the general can't be everywhere at once. Primal fury on the tuskgor chariots more than makes up for the loss of scythed wheels. Don't put a ghorgon infront of tomb king archers 6's to wound sounds good but 20 shots each phase will easily take him out. I don't know how to use harpies! I think combo charges is the key to doing well because the 1d6 pursue/overrun for minos is ludicrous. Oh and finally a 33pt unit of 5 ungor raiders should not be able to take on a skull catapult and a casket of souls and win but they did!

I'm going to reserve judgement until i've played more games but if someone offered me a choice between the new and old books right now i'd take the old book even with it's numerous flaws

Woo hoo, finally another army that doesn't just ignore the whole psychology section of the rulebook. I am surprisingly glad to hear you make this as one of your comments, it seems to be an area of the game written out of many of the recent books. I am looking forward to facing them (and probably getting my bum handed to me!)

Agreed, the sort of 'bull like' paint job works really well, I am warming to them (except the abs).

Mind you don't comment on how good they look in a dark paint scheme when we have just heard about Ols albino mino plans
