As per the title - is anyone else like me feeling a bit "meh" about the forthcoming Beastmen book?

Admittedly I've never considered running a Beasts army but I was quite interested in the Warriors and Skaven releases (quite why since it's taking me an eternity to do my current army I don't know).  I don't know if it's just down to what information has leaked or been rumoured this time round being less interesting or not but other than buying the army book I can't see myself even putting Beasts on the list of armies I might consider doing next

I'm waiting until I properly see the book and models before deciding. I always found my beastmen to be the most fun army to use - not to paint, mind. Never managed to work the steam up for it.

They do seem to have reverted to brown orcs and goblins though.

I feeling the opposite, actually! Had Chaos since 4th edition when it was all mixed so had some Warriors, Daemons and Beasts. But Beasts were always the element that least appealled, however now am far more interested in getting them this time round, and they've topped Daemons in my interest list.

In fairness haven't played them at all (either as opponent of player) in 6th edition - so maybe am not considering the fact there aren't been any changes between this edition and the past one and am treating the Beastman as new?

Bestmen are back to being a lot closer to the 4th/5th edition style now. Played as a different armystyle  in 6th, so a lot of complaints stem from the 6th edition only players.

It's a great book, have a look at it first before you write it off. The only reason anyone should be miffed by the army is because Ungors are being shifted onto 20mm bases, but other than that, I like it, and would probably start my own (if I hadn't started goblins just before Xmas).

i'm one of those '6th edition' whiners, because frankly beastmen were an interesting and characterful book, operating like no other army, and now they have lost that. our core ifantry is laughably overpriced and crap, they nerfed the tuskgor chariot, one of the few solid choices in the old list, and make it very clear that its monsters ftw, which is continueing this lamentable trend of making this game monster hammer.
i've been waiting for a new book for ages, but now i see what they're putting up as a replacement i geneunly just want to keep the old book, just with the new magic item list and the ungor bowmen.

Chariots were always going to be looked at and reduced, due to them being one of the only reliable choices in the book and the one that people massed. Bestigor are a missed chance, as I though they would have improved them.

GW always tinker and change for the sake of it, so its no real surprise that the book has had a change of playstyle. I preferred the 6th edition mode at any rate, but heigh ho.

Its a shame that the style has nearly completely changed, but it seems that Monster Hammer is the way the armies are going at the moment.

Even though they don't actually bring the models out for half of them....wierd...

Yeah I know.

They should take the time to release the big monster kits as they would make a ton.

How many people would of bought the hellpit if they bought it out on release date of the skaven book? They would of made loads. Look how popular the  :doomwheel001: and :bell001: kits are.

How many steg kits do you reckon they have sold when I see at least one of them in each lizardmen force? (besides, i think the kit was fantastic!).
