DE's have psycology which is something daemons and vcs don't have...

Dark Elves don't crumble/disappear from instability, which Undead and Daemons do. Swings and roundabouts.

but if DEs lose by 8 they run away if daemons lose by 8 they could take no damage.  It has always been the ability that a unit should hold and with 1/3 of all the wounds saved it becomes better hence why DE's do wella gainst them enough shots = 2/3 dead daemon but also against other DE's the shooting does the damage.

Now i am looking at using different armies at different events as i like a challenge thats why i started kings as i found the orcs a bit too unreliable.

I'd prefer to face a DE army than a daemon army any day of the week.  As i know how to beat them.

100% agree, especially since my Vamps have been geared to take them on for ages now (just never seem to draw them)
And Grant fella as you well know, the beauty of taking the GUO is the massive points denial it involves, plus the orrible nurgle spells...By no means is it sub optimal..

Warning from now on if I face DoC, I'm playing dirty..
Ie: hiding everything possible and march blocking...

Tactical wheeling?

I thought you were collecting a Daemon army for tournament use?

Is there such a thing as a sub optimal choice in the DEs and daemons book???  Even fringe unit have a few nasty uses.

Yes, the GUO is a lot of points. As are any of the fully tooled up GD's or a Lord on Dragon, or fully kitted Slann in a Temple Guard (which are more points!)......

Also, it depends on what army your taking against them. Why hide if you can shoot them to bits with TK's? Why hide when you can send a unkillable, magic moveable unit (knightbus) through them?

Besides, I found that the amount of terrain on the board at a time can seriously mess up the old "hide and hope" plan. lol.

DP can actually be quite a good choice. MoN with Fly, Stream, ASL is quite good, although when compared with a GD it is sub-par.

Thats the main problem with the DP - no matter how you tool him, a GD will do the job better, for not much more points.

I use a DP as forgeworlds model is well worth using.
