well my problem is the south coast comp really does not affect DoC that much (DE yes, DoC no), but weaker races are equally affected, no double rare etc..
So effectively there is nothing out there that can hurt a GUO, looking at the players entered so far, Grant will be the only DoC player, 1st place IMO guaranteed.....
Good for OG, don't get me wrong, but f*cking boring....

I'm taking TK just for a change (bored shitless of VC) but I will have nothing in the list with the comp restrictions that can take on DoC (especially Nurgle / Khorne)

My Star Dragon can defeat this Daemon my liege!!! Let me take him out

Isn't beating Daemons what tournaments are all about? I mean, facing the army at some point at a tournament is a given, so best work to that.

Mind you, complaining about daemons at tournaments is a bit like complaining about the English weather.

Well i did try to get grant to take lizards but he declined but a lizard challenge later in the year.  Wimped out of kairos for the final and gone back to DE's that was just too much filth.

It's just this comp does the job on DE but hardly anything to DoC, who simply turn to Nurgle when the auto hit (hatred) is taken away from the Thirster...

It was tiresome to see DoC everywhere at reading, even on the bottom tables..
Masters top 3 was all DoC
GOM was won by DoC, with several in top 5

I think it's more an insight  into the comp systems being used rather than anything else..
Not sure why the South Coast comp is suddenly becoming the norm as it does nothing to address the issue, at least this wknd all I have to worry about is Skaven (only 3 DoC out of 80), taking away GD's and dragons and the toys really makes this an even playing field (or as close damm it)

Fantasy, and especially tournaments, will never be an even playing field unless everybody uses the same list and army.

If you pay to attend an event that you want to win, then why not take the best tools available?

Hence my suggestion at DoC only events ie: the GW GT's....

I never enter these things expectig to win, mainly to have fun..

We'll see what happens at the next one...

At least I know Sheffield will be something truly different....

Erik, that last sentence was 100% absolutely brilliant!

You sir are now a legend!   :cool;m:

That is so going in my sig!

Yes, I'm bring DoC. My Lizard list isn't ready yet and no one likes DE's, even with the restrictions in place. IMO my DE list is better than my DoC list. I seriously doubt I'll win with it. It struggles vs shooting, T4 and magic defence. If I get dwarfs I'm screwed (actually, Orcs would probably do well too). I was lucky at Reading - 1st Round DE's with the Ring, 2nd Round Beasts with lots of casters, 3rd round DoC, BT build with 4dd and scroll.

For DoC, Pupa Nurgle is the 2nd best Lord choice for SoCo comp. LoC is a far better option.

There was only 5 DoC players at Reading IIRC. 3 GUO's, 2 BT's. Less than 10% of the players. If you look at the results, the DoC players came in quite well scattered about the final placings

DE's have psycology which is something daemons and vcs don't have as it is nice to flee but failing to rally can make a big difference.  DEs are not better under the SCGT comp as the restrictions changes the army to a more combat focused army which therefore takes away the effectiveness of duck and dive and combat is good they are still elves lacking armour saves apart from knights.

I'd prefer to face a DE army than a daemon army any day of the week.  As i know how to beat them.
