lol. Hi Jack!

Yeah, most dark elf armies I've seen under this comp have gone for the max number of shots. Good to hear you went combat heavy instead - that would of been a good fight vs my DoC list.

Still, you get to smack around the LoC list. How do you feel about playing vs the LoC?

Ol, let me know about the Giant.

Marauder Mitch

Grant made a bet with me and John at lunch if he comes top 3 at Impfest he will use Lizards for the rest of the year, which is ace.

Well, a good day of gaming was had by all.

Quick run down of my day:

Game 1: HE's

Thought I'd be facing the Book of Hoeth list. Edd then rocks up with a Star Dragon in tow and I'm like  #-). This was going to be harder than I thought.

I chose lore of beasts for this game, as I needed to control the DP's and Star Dragon somehow. This worked very well as on the first magic phase I managed to beast cowers a unit of the DP's and Pit of Slimed the other.

First couple of turns was a bit of a stand off, with neither one of us commiting to a big fight.

He moved his dragon into position to rear charge the PB block with the DP's charging the front. I thought this was a bad move on his part as my GUO was near by. He declared the charge but with the ward and regen in play he only won by 2 and I took no further damage due to the BSB and GUO being available.

With the StarDragon commited, the GUO moved up and when I got him into combat I thought that was going to be it. However, luck failed me and I fluffed all the GUO attacks, only to take back a massive 5 wounds! (he rolled a lot of sixes, I rolled a lot of 1's). Saying that, only lost by 2 again as I had outnumber, extra banner, and killed some DP's, and managed to lose 2 PB's with no further damage to the GUO. Second round saw the GUO get its act in gear and cause a massive 12 wounds on the Star Dragon. This led to the Lord and the DP's fleeing. The Lord and co rallied, only to have the GUO recharge the lord and catch him when he fled. 16-4 WIN.

Game 2: HE's

Got drawn against DE's but the redraw saw me get HE's again. This time was vs the Book of Hoeth. Kept my GUO well away from the level 4 who had pit. This game was won when the flamers killed enough of the WL with level 4 to make them panic and flee into the Tz Herald and the GUO killed the BSB banner banner with Shrivlling Pox. 19-1 WIN

Game 3: DE's

Final game saw me vs the DE player that I "avoided" game 2. He had loads of shooting and magic. Chariot got blown up first turn by rending star assassin. Tried to flame the assassin but out of 5 shots and 3 hits, only managed a sigle wound. Game went back and forth with him shooting me to bits, and me miscasting with the GUO 3 turns running. After I managed to corner his army I managed to get some decent points back. GUO got killed last turn with a stand and shoot on the assassin. 3 shots, 3 hits, 2 wounds, failed all wards (only maanged to pass a single ward save for him all game).
Opponent then tried to kill the HoK with Doombolt and miscast and took off her remaining wound. Game ended in a hard fought draw. 10-10 DRAW

So, all eyes were on table 1 where Simran was playing vs Chris. Let's just say that Chris is ranked high (top 20) for a reason, and totally cleaned house. This meant that Chris had come first, I had come 2nd (went into last game on 2pts more than my opponent), and my opponent game 3 came 3rd.   :2nd:

So, with the 2nd podium in 2 months and the "foolish wager" means that the DoC are retired for the rest of the season. Lizards will most likely be my next project.

:salamander001: Bring on the rest of 2010  :slann001:

Are you saying they died fleeing into the herald, because don't you need US 5 for that?
