Fantasy in 2010 - Predictions?

Perhaps the scenarios would have an anti magic one, therefore making it a 1 in 6 chance magic will be 'sub-optimal', the magic heavy lists would be diminished.

That's exactly the idea. Don't change the basic rules to weaken or strengthen a particular area - eg magic - because something else just steps in to the gap. Kairos no longer big kid on the block? Fine, Shades and chums are even better. Weaken shooting? Fine, bring back Kairos and drop the flamers for more Horrors... etc, rinse and repeat ad nauseam. The scenario route would be great, because people will kind of self-comp if they know that a list that is only about the magic (or shooting, or avoidance, or whatever) will implode in 1/6 or 1/3 games. This works in both club and tourney play.

Combine my 2 ideas though, magic useless in 1 in 6, shades, dark riders, flamers etc all useless in missions involving objectives, of course something else takes over, but it alwys will, just mix it up a bit every few years.
