lonely hungry nids :(

boneswords could be ace if not FAQ'd now, they're not power weapons, just ignore saves!

the swarmlord might have gotten even better with him being able to take 4 psychic powers!

So only Power fist/Axes and Thunderhammers are AP 1/2.....

Me think terminator could be a mare to deal with in CC now unless they've nerfed the 2+ armor save!!

Doesn't look like ther are many CC weapons being AP1, but making standard Power Weapons AP3 makes anything with a 2+ Save much harder to shift. Don't forget though, weight of dice will still get rid of most things, generally speaking.

Also worth noting that certain Character Weapons will use their Codex rules and not the general rulebook for Power Wpn types. E.g. Dante's Master Crafted Power Axe will be as written in the codex, and not +1S but reduced I. That would make him suck...
"Sanguinius. It should have been him. He has the vision and strength to take us to victory, and wisdom to rule once victory is won. For all his aloof coolness, he alone has the Emperor's soul in his blood. Each of us carries part of our father - Sanguinius holds it all." Horus

Up to 4 Psychic Powers...  :wink;m::

Or, two Level 2 Powers or one Level 4 Power etc...

Rumour has it that the Nid FAQ will beef your MCs back up to Eternal Warrior, plus a bunch of other benefits. Already your Flyrant and Harpy are looking like viable choices again.

Seems Matt Ward looked at what Cruddace did to the Nids and choked him to death with a rolled up Codex - here's hoping

if this is the case, the Armoured shell (2+ save) for the tyrant is now more worth it's points!

and from what i've seen, any of them are more useful than the current tyrant powers

All good points Seb.... plus have we had confirmation on how AP works with vehicles... must be a very good reason standard 'powerweapons' are now only AP3!!!

Also, if players still bring Termies you won't see much change in the number of AP1/2 long range weaponry that opponents field, so it doesn't change that much. You just have to make sure you whittle the numbers down before you're forced to assault - but most people do that already.

SO Grey Knights force weapons are only AP3 now then?
Necron Warscythes will be okay at least, as their rule states there is no armour save..

So normal hammer, shield termies rule the roost once again, ridiculous....

Only because your grey knights can't take them    :rivertroll02:

Not necessarily. If you look on the previous page GK get varying ranges depending on the weapon chosen, e.g. staff - AP4, and certain race weapons and character weapons will stay as is written in their Codex (of which GKs are included in this caveat... it seems).

Not really. Of all the recent tournament standings, there aren't a lot of SM armies generally which means that Termies, while obviously good, are not necessarily game breaking or chosen in abundant numbers. It certainly doesn't appear that they will be all that different in toughness terms than they are right now. The point sink in such a unit won't change, and the way AP CC weapons now seem to work means it's more the other units with a 2+ save that benefit overall a lot more (MCs, Sang Guard etc).

Tom's DA 2+/3++ list, whilst filthy, has its deficiencies and I can't see how that will change much with the new rumours it seems. It's not so much making really tough units infinitely better, but the direction seems to be buffing/"enhancing" other units in the game to reduce the gap between the two. Certain other units will have to be played slightly differently with the new rule definitions, but that's to be expected.

...and, an opponent will always get infinitely more kudos and respect from me playing an unusual and non-point-and-click army than generic "dull and paste." What's more, I think the option of Allies will bring a better level of potential balance across the board, as races with deficiencies will be able to fill those gaps with allies in one form or other (unless you're Nids, but they seem to be getting personalised buffs to off-set the lack of allies).

My 2p's worth... I could be horribly wrong of course  :wink;m::
