Just got back from this one, I got best painted, 2nd best sport, finished 10th and was 2nd highest OG'er.  Overall, I'm quite chuffed!

@Lee - The results were completely mixed up on the print out. You actually came 13th fella. Still best painted was great! (you MUST get those knights/Dragon Ogres painted!). .

They even got 3rd and 4th in the wrong place!

I came 6th when you put it in the correct order (highest out of us guys here that went).

1st Game - Julien (Lizards)

Was looking like a minor/draw untill skulltakers flesh hound unit charged at warriors with scar vet that fled and were caught, and then took apart the other unit of warriors.

2nd Game - Jon Jones (dark elves)

Very cagey game. He had combat and shooting supremecy, but didn't come at me - in fact he castled up basically (I used terrain to reduce shooting effectiveness). I sat back and blasted what I could and killed some small units to even the scores (after he lost hydra on turn 2 he went on the defensive, which was fine by me).

Game 3 - Martin (DoC).

Now, Martin and I played game 3 against each other last year. It was Oldblood JSOD Lizardmen vs BT DoC list back then, and I managed a draw. This year, I had a secret weapon for that BT....BALESWORD (all hits auto wound and each wound gets multiplied into d6 wounds).

This game was one of the most enjoyable games of warhammer ever, Martin is always great fun to play against.

Most memorable part of the game:

Both of us had a siren song. I used mine turn 2 when I moved the girl next to the GUO and sirened in the BSB's unit of flesh hounds. In combat I challenged with the GUO, to which the BSB accepted. BSB/Jugger managed 2 wounds, to which I managed to wound him 3 times, of which 2 got through armour/ward and was then multiplied into 6. The HoS also managed to cause a wound and didn't take any back from the 2 flesh hounds in contact. After stability, he had a single hound left which was dealt with in the next round of combat. That unit alone was worth 565vps (BSB - 390 (inc bonus) Fhounds - 175).

This put Martin on the backfoot abit and he thought he had to kill the GUO to get back in the game. He flank charged the HoS and killed her in his turn and went into the flank of the GUO.  In my turn I flanked the BT with some horrors to even up the flank bonus, plus gave +1 for rank. So I started 2CR up.

Combat was tense, Martin manged to get 3 wounds on the GUO. In return I hit the BT twice. With only 2 ward saves to help him, it was a pain when he rolled double 5. From stability I lost 2 horrors, but the GUO took no further wounds (he was down to 5 now).

Second round he managed another 3 wounds, to which I managed to hit him 3 times. He then failed his armour save, and all 3 of his wards. Rolled the 3 dice to multiply them to D6....2....2....1... = 5 wounds!! Dead BT [insert evil laugh here].

After that it was a mopping up exercise.

*Massacre win

Game 4 - Wood Elves.

With a shot at the top 3 on offer this was going to be a hard game.

DoC struggle vs shooting normally, so WE was probably going to be my worst match up.

Very close game overall.

Highlights:

Managed to get the Treeman down to 2 wounds on the last turn - 2 from flamers, 2 from Skulltaker.

HoDA however managed to get 16 shots at the hounds (his last turn), which took out 2 of them (gave him half unit strength). Also, chariot charged into the dryads and only killed 1, then over two rounds managed to get killed! Disaster.

Managed to pull back some points with the flamers toasting 7/10 archers, and the GUO reclaiming the BSB banner and killing the dryads and making it impossible for another unit to rally.

Totally up the points I had lost by 321 pts. 300pts was the "minor" win barrier, so by 21vps I had lost 2TPS.

RESULT

Well, the results were in....6th place overall. If I had got a draw I would of got 3rd. Never mind. .
4 interesting games with a very unorthodox list. I was one of 4 DoC players:

So as you can see, barely any models on the table. Which was good as I could fit them all in my small case! .

Well, yeah.....out of the 4 DoC lists, mine was top!

As it was the weakest build (out of the 4), I was quite pleased! :)

1st place: Skaven
2nd place:Dark Elves
3rd place: Wood Elves
4th: Dark Elves
5th: Dark Elves

As you can see going from 1500 to 2k suits the dark elves quite well. .
