He can use his power, its not really an issue with GK as far as Im concerned, so small anyway

Elite armies being able to have pretty much everything as troops not an issue? I disagree sir. And I think your comp is slightly in the favour of the armies that have multiple options to 'counts as troops'.

Whose writing the Grey Knights comp for OG btw? I'd be very interested to see it, or even have a crack at it if you'd like?

And given the amount of melta, fists and other stuff that can instant kill around, they are not really the uber monsters they are in WFB.

Most special characters in 40k are undercosted compared to anything else you can get from the same code.  Compare Lysander to a Space Marine captain with the same wargear for example... I think a points premium (+20% ish) and a short banned list would be appropriate for OG events...

I have made your argument re unlocking builds with Ol before and he's not having it. If you want to play all termies just use the Grey Knights codex. Think up little justifications for all the powers. If anyone complains explain its the only way you can field YOUR army, cos of the comp.

Ol can't see the filth for the trees in the GK book anyway so you're onto a winner ;)

So is there any chance to revoke the banning of special characters?

As discussed, I see no issue with your army and choice of SC (call this a one off)..

The other SC's will have to be addressed individually, I dont like the unlockable ones (so to speak) as this can confuse new players learning the codecs etc..

But I will look at all of the books and see what could be allowed, for now Sashs is the exception so he can have his fun..

Edit: Could probably allow Tau SC's off the top of my head as all 3 are not exactly nails in any way....

The other option is to allow (nearly) all of them but if two players meet with the same SC, a roll off decides who lives or who dies before the match begins..(has been used in WFB to great effect in the past)

Be my guest sir, I dont know the system well enough, to know what is truly bent in that book anyway...

Dear mr Ol,

Can I please use Belial so I can use my Imperial Fists first company as intended?

Love Toby

Ps. Put a points premium on them!?

Hey guys,

I just realised I probably should have posted this query here but put it in the sign up bit on the other thread above.

According to the comp rules the only army that I could bring would be my Death Company list.

This list actually fits the comp rules and on its own at 1000pts would be complete rubbish, but combined with another 1000pts from a shooty army could be quite devastating.

Is this because they got overlooked within the comp rules?

The list doesn't have any SCs, has basic troops 3+ Sv with FNP and Furious Charge and relentless and fits the no transport rules because my troops can be Dreadnoughts (with fleet and furious charge)......

So what are people's opinions of a DC list in a doubles tournie? I wouldn't take it to a tournie on its own, but as part of a team it might not pass the timmy comp.

And BTW this isn't intended as a power gamer idea (I could still come last with Grey Knights lol!), it's just purely that with all the comp rules none of my other armies are currently playable unless I buy and assemble more stuff, which is ok, but I'd rather just bring something that's at least half painted.

But it was also to query, is this the sort of thing timmy comp would sort out?

I'd imagine that in a doubles tournament the whole list ( both players armies as a whole) would have to fit the comp, so you might get issues with filling slots etc.

Otherwise sounds great to me! Death company are fun and I've had a great time recently blowing them to bits ;)

How do you manage a DC list without the special character guy out of interest? Just one big unit??

Hey Toby,

Yep, just take a Chaplain as my HQ and then stuff a bloody great big unit in a Land Raider Crusader and make up the rest of the army with Death Company Dreads........ :wink;m::

They are totally rubbish, can't hold objectives but are bloody good fun to play and really easy to lug around (I could fit the army in my lunch box!) but I can imagine newer players baulking at the sight of a large unit of blood crazed vampire Speesh Maaareeens running towards them. :)

And I don't think the filling of slots is a major issue, the whole army is made up of 1 HQ, 3 Troops and a Dedicated Transport at 1000pts.

Chrhis it sounds ACE FUN and i'd love to play it. In fact, I'm tempted to offer you the team up mate...

Need to talk to the HATE gang about whose playing with who. Do you have a partner yet?

Chris
Why would any of your other armies suddenly be no good, everyone's lists will be poop at 1k it's how you combines it with the other player that is the key...

Where are the death company rules, I don't have them, hence me overlooking them :)
