And so, having a day off its time to photograph some complete lack of work in progress and pass it off as a real breakthrough in my painting regime!

First up, the second mangler (needs a lot of work, but you get the general idea)

and just to throw in a tangent, some Malifaux Gremlins I've been working on. Having played them in the game I'm pretty sure I won't be using them as, as much as I love random, troops that shoot other members of their crew when they miss is a little too random even for me! So I've now bought a Collidi box set as evil punch an Judy seems much more sensible.... pictures of them as I progress with them.

fatolaf

Love those bunnies, will we see them at the Waargh?

Blotthrower

Yup, the bunnies, bessie and all the halflings will be at the waagh, just realised I may need to source a few more to make up the army or alternatively make a cheeky unit filler!

Blotthrower

So it turns out its been over 3 and a half months since I've updated this blog, so in order to try and get me motivated to get the army finished for the south coast GT I have started it back up again. Without further ado, here is something I've been working on this month, a completed chariot:

And just to show off here's a work in progress unit filler for the Archers:

The chef is cooking a pig over the fire (hard to see from the angle of the base, but thats the only decent shot I got of it!).

In order to get the army ready for its south coast outing I will be painting over the coming months:

- 5 More Wolf Riders
- Another Chariot
- Some Pumpkin Golems (Trolls)
- A Halfling Lord and some more Archers.
- Maybe another unit filler.
- A boltthrower

All very achievable in the next 2 and a half months, so long as I keep the motivation up!

cunningmatt

Keep going it's looking great! There some motivation! :)

I'm painting classic Dwarfs!! PbN Update 146

Blotthrower

Thanks Matt, your sterling words of motivation have lifted my painting to new heights... o.k. so maybe not quite that far but the important point is I have an update! And in the same calender year as the last one, huzzah!

The completed Unit filler

...and in its rightful place in the unit

and finally a completed pig riding fanatic!

Next up (as its so cold I can't spray anything!) some Halfling Archers to help me get up to the 60 I need. Depending on how long it takes me to do those I may also have some more work in progress to show (depends when my orders arrive!)

fatolaf

Keep it up buddy, maybe give them a mini run out at the next waargh (as you only need 1600pts)

cunningmatt

Lovely stuff, and the themeing is great as always!! And to think two updates and it's only early February!! You're doing well.

Undead Dan

I would love to see this army in action vs the goblins of another richard from CWG. As if goblin vs goblin in itself wasn't a mad mad game, adding two crazy lovely armies together would be magnificent!

(He uses pumpkin riders, "mom and pop" charioteers, things like that, all gorgeous conversions)

Blotthrower

So after my sterling performance at the last Waaagh (5 tournament points! The only way is up!) I had a chat with a few people who said to me "Ben, what you need is some doomdivers" so with that in mind I set to work building two of them, as it may be a little bit bent to have two doomdivers, but considering the context in which they are set I think I can get away with it!

So without further ado, here's some work in progress shots:

Doomdiver 1

Doomdiver 2

So the original plan was to go with Swans as ammo, but for some reason I could not find any Swans that were the right size or pose so in the end I plumped with some Geese from Eureka miniatures, although they are technically 40mm scale, I'm really pleased as to how they fit into the scale of the model.

Next update I should have finished the second chariot and hopefully I will have some more pictures of the Geesedivers!
