booked my ticket this morning and sorting out rooms now (massive ball ache but finally convinced them) so we should be all set

update: hotel all booked, £40 a night inc breakfast at the Britannia. I've pmed you the booking code

Yeah utter nonsense, you've got a code so fecking honour it.  I just stuck with the original booking I made as was guaranteed £35 a night for the friday plus some other rate for the saturday that wasn't much more.  Means I'm just beside the venue and Britannia can shove it.

i agree being in the premier inn is way more convenient, but as they dicked us about re discount, I like many others wanted to take my business elsewhere on point of principle rather than practical considerations.

Having phoned them on 4 occassions and been told a number of different reasons why they 1. couldn't find the discount and then 2. why they couldn't honour it I decided they are equally unworthy of my business.

To be honest the new TK book is probably easier for new players to understand than the last one as it conforms to standard play especially the magic phase.

I have no objections as long as they ensure that herds of sphinxes are not rampaging across the table & ban their power scroll variant.

Cranking out my old army for a game tonight, no new models but will give the magic giant chappy a go, its against jims Lizards so probably wont go well.

It will be good to see all 15 armies represented as they probably would not be otherwise.

The guy who won best TK last time round was really looking forward to defending it with his old book, ok he was the only TK player, he is a club mate of mine.  The changes to the way magic works (not adding the level) made them utterly horrendous in the magic phase and they were actually quite competitive.
