I have seen him action a few times, Julien used him a lot when the book first came out and the special move is handy, it never seemed to justify the points for him, plus he's very easy to kill...

Wulfric is nice because he brings something different to the table in allowing you to plunk a unit of marauders on the back board edge and for similar reasons throgg as he lets you use trolls as core so opens up options with the book.  Other than that though kinda have to agree with you.
