I was hoping to run one in Feb, but it may be a little bit late notice for that now, still might be able to do it in the penultimate Sunday of Feb though.

Anyway, I know that Ol was talking about wanting to get into the game, so I thought that this might be a perfect opportunity to dive in at the deep end and learn to play in the company of Warmaster veterans and newbies alike.

There won't be any compulsion to paint your armies, but it would of course be nice if you did. One of the advantages of Warmaster is that you can literally churn units out in minutes. For example I still use the four/five units of knights I painted the night before the very first GW ran Warmaster tournie in Nottingham half cut after a load of Vodka and Red Bulls at about 2am in my room at the P&J. They look fine on the table, but up close they are a little ropey. Anyway, I did those in under two hours...

So, fancy giving it a go? There's a 'bring your own' alcohol policy, just don't get too pissed of course, otherwise anything you learn will be lost straight away... ;)

where will this be? could some just rock up to watch and learn?

It will be held at the IMPs venue in sunny Finchley. We moved in August to right next to West Finchley Underground Station.

And whilst you could just rock up to watch, you'd learn a heck of a lot more by coming to play. Consider it a 'Warmaster Boot Camp' if you will...

Might be interested in this (date depending) got the book & some figs from the BOFA set.

Yep I could well up for this, depending on the date (not so sure about last Sunday in Feb, possible Waargh on then..)..

Would entrants be okay with total newbs playing? (apart from the fact they will get an easy win)

Stomm

Yup, that won't be a problem. We all started somewhere and most of us only have one or two local opponents, so anyone new to play against is more welcome than not.

Also getting to play three games of Warmaster is more important than winning an event.

At this late date I'm probably going to have to push it to the end of march or mid-April. I'll just gave to figure out how it might slot into the Wm/wma event calendar, and any other events I may want to attend.

As an aside I should be able to get rick to come down. It's not every day that you get to play the game's designer, and probably beat him... ;)
