Wargames New Year Resolutions 2011

My resolutions for 2011

1) Paint my Beast army and take it to at least one tournie (aiming for SCGT)

2) Assemble and Paint a WoC army (with a very different approach  )

3) Assemble and Paint at least 1000 pts of my Tau army

4) Paint my Bone Griffons fleet and play lots of Uncharted Seas

5) Learn to play Warmaster, paint my Tomb king army for it

6) Break into top 100 of WFB rankings, and get a top 20 finish at a 70+ person event this year

7) Play alot more of the AGOT LCG and actually have a clue what is going on

8) Play a BattleLore campaign and get at least a couple of club members into it

And for fun

9) Take my LM to at least one Tournie with no slann but an Oldblood riding a Carnasaur as the general, win at least one game with this....

This year I'm going to be more modest. I have Animosity running until March ish, so that will curtail a lot of early hobby. I'll consider 2011 a sucess if I can achieve 7/10 of these targets.

Draig's Resolutions

1) Run a sucessful fifth Animosity Campaign. Break the 100 Player mark for the first time.
2) Finish Modelling and then Paint my Blood Bowl Orc Team.
3) Play at least 15 games of Blood Bowl.
4) Paint the Starter fleet for my Dystopian Wars Prussians.
5) Play with said fleet at least three times.
6) Paint at least 2 Malifaux Crews - Lilith and the Dreamer.
7) Improve my Game of Thrones LCG play.
8) Play at least 15 different game systems in 2011.
9) Play 5 new games this year.
10) Play at least one game in my collection I haven't played for a year.

1. Play at least 12 tabletop games AND write battle reports for them
2. Come better than last in a Wandsworth Waaargh
3. Paint all of my scenery
4. Paint up my Malifaux crew (Nicodem)
5. Construct my Warhound Titan (out of wood and brass!)

After my reasonably successful resolutions for last year, I thought I'd better try something that'll stretch me a bit more this year.

And so...

1) Attend at least 4 WFB singles tournaments this year (wife and child permitting, which may mean it ends up being 4 total)

2) Achieve mid-table mediocrity in at least one tournament (by which I mean finish in the middle third of the competitors)

3) Win at least two tournament games (preferably in the same tournament but lets not push it)

4) Get at least 2000 points of my High Elf army "finished" (final washes & highlights, varnish and static grass) - not sure if this is being too ambitious or not enough. I've got over 3000 points worth to tournament+ standard (i.e. 3 colours plus some shades and highlights) but on the other hand I've decided to paint the armour slightly differently on the later stuff and so need to go back and bring the older stuff into line, which means I've got about 2500 points worth to bring up to the same standard. 

5) Build and paint the scenery the wife bought me for my birthday and Christmas

6) Finalise my plans for the joint Skaven army I'm doing with the wife and get round to clipping out and building the Skaven models I've already bought.

7) Try and play at least 2 games a month once the wife is back at work.

didn't do a resolution last year, but I think I have to do one for 2011.

1. Finish and paint my 1500 point dark eldar list.
2. Finish and paint my 2000 point lizardmen list.
3. Finally get into invasion and play some games.
4. Go to atleast 4 tournaments.
5. Find the time to go to club nights.

1. Finish my Bretts before the ETC
2. Compete for New Zealand at the ETC and not embarrass myself, gaming-wise
3. Top 10 finish at a decent sized tournament
4. Finally try some NMM painting and work on other techniques...maybe some OSL

Right, let's set a list that I won't fail as spectacularly as 2010's resolutions!

1) See the Tale of OG gamers through to me having a fully painted empire/DoW army
2) Gain and paint more chaos dwarves (mantic and forgeworld)
3) Get my hordes faction painted and play more games of it!
4) Paint twice as many models as I buy
5) Learn 40k and get some nids (maybe painted)
6) Paint some of my warmaster
7) Make a lava board (with terrain) for the club

My New Year Resolutions 2011

1) Build my CSM army to 5000 points
2) Finish painting all my skaven
3) Learn WFB rules
4) Enter a tournament 40k/WFB
5) Learn Apocalypse 40k rules
6) Make a Tower of skulls
7) Start 2 new armys 40k (orks) and WFB
8) be at every gaming night mon/thur

Get into top 50 whfb rankings
Play agots the board game
Paint my dark elf bloodbowl team
Paint and play with my shroud mages for uncharted seas
Play at least 10 different games/ systems
Get up to date reading a song of ice and fire
Try for best sports in every event I go to

1. Fully paint my wood elf army for tempest ressurection (feb) to tabletop quality (30ish unpaintedfigs required)
2. Fully paint my first malifaux crew - witch hunters
3. Finish painting my lizardmen.
4. Pass my shiny check and resist buying any more armies (stop looking all seductive at me you supposed TK release).
5. Paint more than I buy (1-4 should guarantee this but you never know!).
6. Never field an unmagnetised warhammer figure!

Not bothered about where I place these days so nothing on that but maybe make it in the top 10 WE players.
