Wow that sucks.

I agree with Ol even though this is'nt about money directly it still is very important. My mate got tabled by Matt Howley. He is now thinking how different that game could have been. His keeper got shot by a hellcannon and 6 wounds was done to it. This was probably the only chance Matt would have had to shoot the Keeper as well as he would be in combat next turn.

Now although there is no "proof" that he rolled the fake dice for this, my friend has left the tournament with a slightly sour taste in his mouth. He still thought it was a great tournament, but he does wonder what could have happened.

Unfortunately there will always be a group of people that will try to cheat. Who knows how many people "accidently" cheated over the weekend? Playing rules wrong on purpose, using dodgy dice but not getting caught etc.

I don't beleive it's a massive issue on the tournament scene but who knows? Matt Howley is just one person to be caught out. Maybe it will make other people think twice before cheating.

And that's the damage he has caused for his last 12 opponents over the last 2 SCGT's.
Who knows how many other opponents in other events as well?

Because if what he is saying is true , then he might have had the hooky dice for ages and used them in multiple events, and thefeore cheated in every single one of them..

Not that I believe a single word he says...

NOT if he gets away with it, For instance if he rocks up at the next big event, Midlands, I will walk out...

I hope that the fact there is such a big uproar on the forums following this event will discourage anyone who might think about cheating in the future. It would never even cross my mind to suspect my opponent of using biased dice, even if there were an unlikely number of Lergy the Lerker symbols appearing  :wink;m::
Personally I only use these dice for wound counters, but that's just because they're huge and I normally need big handfuls of poison blowpipe / repeater crossbow shots!

It's always seemed to me like the WFB community is pretty tight, and should be able to self-police itself like this. Restricting club dice etc isn't the right way to go, it goes against the whole idea of trusting your opponent and approaching the game with the intention of having fun.

The only worry is how long did it take to discover this? I remember Sim getting his vamp lord gatewayed at last year's SCGT as well.

Viruk

The funny thing is he is known as the Gateway King...

Well not really funny slightly sad.

Mo, was that Marcus with the kipper? I played him last game and he was a great guy that was just getting back into the game. He doesn't deserve to leave the tournament with doubts as to this kind of stuff. That's why this is so damaging... There's a chance that cool guys like Marcus will stop coming back if they feel there is a chance they are being cheated by the "top players".
In the style of Tom Hale... F*ck Ushabti!!!

It would seem the Gateway King has been toppled. The king is dead, long live...

I had a great game against Marcus as well, second game, it took me ages to get his Kipper, combination of withering, mindrazor and two units (mindrazored dark riders and hydra.)

And was it not again in the first turn, at S11 or 12, same as me...

jackhoneysett

Yep, first turn S11/12 I think. At the time there was never even a suggestion that the dice could be an issue. I think (hope) that it's something that wouldn't even cross most people's minds.

Viruk

Yeah it waas Marcus. I forced him to come to this tournament and he is just getting back into the game. Regardless he had great fun all throughout and although I he won't stop coming to tournaments due to this (he likes getting drunk too much with his mates) I can see other even more casual people dropping out of tournaments after hearing of this WAAC attitude.
