Before the warband could properly break camp, a crazed looking ratman sprinted from the tree line. Loeb stepped towards it, shouting orders to the rest of the warband, "Bob, take Spider and go! We will find you at the elven ruins one day south of here. Lothar, get up that pillar and let us know where the other ratmen are. The rest of you, stand fast, we must hold them here to allow Bob and Spider as much time as possible."

The old warrior priest ran towards the first skaven to emerge from the trees, with the rest of the warband at his back. At this moment, more of the rat-kin ran from the tree line like a pestilent tide. The two warbands crashed together, the skaven fighting with a previously unseen hatred and fury.

Maelzch shuddered as he realised at the leaders of these foul abominations were beginning to seem familiar to him. In particular, there was one cowardly example hiding at the back, who made Maelzch's blood boil with fury at the sight of him. "That damned creature has haunted us since we arrived on these shores, we must end him!"

He was brought back to the fight at hand when the spear of a scrawny ratman gashed across his leg. He suddenly became very aware that the skaven were attempting to use their opressive numbers to surround the warband.

"Fall back! We cannot get surrounded here, or Spider will never make it!" The warband obeyed and beat a fighting retreat from their old camp, leaving an unfortunate amount of treasures behind. Thankfully the ratmen seemed more occupied with looting the camp than pursuing the bedraggled warband, and they made their way to the elven ruins.

Once they arrived at the ruins, they found Spider sat against a crumbling wall, with Bob pacing the outside of the building, lokking uncommonly worried and restless. On seeing them, Spider spoke, "There are warrior women near here, who harness the power of the sun in their weapons. This is not safe. We should continue upstream."
As he was saying this, Spider weakly tried to stand. Loeb turned to the quiet fledling warrior that had tagged along with them since Skeggi, "Boy! Help Spider, we need to keep moving." The spearman moved forwards to help, grumbling about how he was only now being noticed despite all that had occurred.

Under orders, the warband fanned out and continued through the dense jungle. They had not travelled far when fierce ululating war cries could be heard and a crackling lightning bolt blasted chunks of rock from the ruins next to Spider. The warrior women had found them!

"We cannot fight them this day, we must seek shelter." called Loeb to the rest of the warband. As they picked up their pace to move away from the shouts, they found their way blocked by two of the Amazon women. The foremost warrior of the pair suddenly squawked in pain and fell to the floor. The second amazon looked at the advancing warriors and her ally on the ground, then turned and beat a swift retreat through the foliage. Unsure of what had just happened, the warband paused and looked around. Spider broke the silence, "The jungle has seen fit to aid us again. With the skaven at our back and the Amazon women to the west, we have no choice but to press further into the jungle."

The warband continued their journey into the jungles for a full day without any further hindrance from their foes. Although Lothar Faust, the eagle-eyed marksman, was convinced that there was someone or something following them.

They eventually reached a small clearing which contained two buildings which were strangely much less ruined than everything else they had encountered so far. "This should make for a suitable base camp for the time being." stated Loeb and the warband went about setting up their cooking fires and tents and foraging nearby.

Loeb used this rare moment of downtime to catch up on completing the notes of their travels in his journal. He was disturbed by a shout from within one of the buildings "Loeb! You must see this." yelled Maelzch. As he made his way towards the building, Bob capered out of the door, shouting, "He is reborn! He walks among us and bears the sign!"

When Loeb entered the hut, he found Spider stood in one corner, and he had removed the bandages from his chest. "By Sigmar's holy hammer!" muttered Loeb is shock, as the severe chest wounds that had been inflicted by the fearsome thunder lizard had already healed. More shocking than this however was the shape of the scar left behind from the wound. The scar appeared to have formed the shape of a twin-tailed comet across Spider's chest!
