Father Loeb Papst looked up from the book he was reading and making notes in to see Agde the halfling and Lothar the marksman arrive back into their temporary camp with supplies. So far their expedition to bring the word of Sigmar to the jungle continent had not been successful; eventful, yes; but not by any means successful.

Loeb was stirred from his thoughts by the voice of Spider, the lucky peasant boy "Mornin', what you reading thar? Spose 'tis the good book"
"Actually, it is the journal of Maelzch, from before the accident. Listen to this 'We have not been in the jungle long, we have already encountered the fell rat-kin, who seem to have blighted our cause since the ruined city. I dare not speak the name of that city lest my madness set back upon me.
We have seen a great number of beasts native to the jungle, apparently disturbed by the activity. We have heard tales in the settlements or mystical shimmering portals and benevolent frog-like statues, this to me sounds like the ramblings of those who have fallen foul of the jungle fever.'
"
With this final phrase from the journal Loeb fell silent, both him and Adge turned their gaze on Maelzch Traugott, their once wise and brave leader, who was currently engaged in a crazed argument with the leader of the flagellants and the corpse of a skink.

"Since yesterday when we were chased from the church we were helping the locals build, and pursued though the night by many varied creatures of darkness, Maelzch seems to have again lost his fragile grip on sanity, it's like..."
A shout cut him short "I KNOW THAT SIGMAR WALKS AMONG US!" It was Bob, yelling at Maelzch. This would not help the delusions of their leader

Father Loeb started as Lothar the marksman sprinted into the camp, shouting "quickly, this way, we have found a massive temple of the ancient ones, though we heard the roar of a monstrous jungle beast, and Adge swears that he saw dead things walking through the trees!"
Loeb rose, calling to Maelzch and Bob, who were seeing who could throw tiny jungle lizards furthest, "Maelzch, the foes of Sigmar are on the move, there is glory to be found, are you with us?"
Maelzch turned, a sudden, surprising clarity of purpose showing in his eyes. "We march", he flatly commanded.

As they stepped through a jungle clearing at the foot of the temple, they all gazed up in wonder at the massive size. Bob broke the silence as a turned to Maelzch "last one to the top's a rat-lover!" Maelzch's ordered front faded as he chased Bob up the temple, giggling like a child. Lothar turned to Spider, the promising farm boy, "keep an eye on those two lad, for all our sakes!" And the warband began the trudge up the side of the temple.

Suddenly, Loeb heard a mighty roar, followed by three hoarse warcries, as Maelzch, Bob and Spider all disappeared from view over the crest of the temple. He turned and yelled to the rest of the party to keep pace as he sprinted the top of the temple. As he reached the peak, the unexpected view took his breath away. There we shimmering portals all around this landscape. Before he could examine these closer, he spotted the source of the roar. A mighty beast of the jungle that he had heard scholars call an 'Arcanodon' was charging up other side of the temple, and he saw the yelling forms of Bob and Maelzch leaping through the air towards the massive creature.  They were follow by a third form, that Loeb had to look twice to check, it was the peasant boy, Spider, who was bellowing, "for Sigmar!"

Before Loeb could aid them, a series of warriors burst from the portal below him, first were two dwarves, who wre promptly charged by a Breton bearing a flame spouting plaque. Even more shocking was what followed. A fell lord of the unliving, a vampire and minion burst through the portal and proceded to inflict terrible injuries to the hapless dwarves and human. The vampire turned his glare towards the warrior priest, and lunged towards the jungle beast. The beast was surrounded by many warriors ineffectually hacking at it. Loeb saw the vampire expertly hamstring it, as Maelzch thrust his dagger into it's eye. A silence fell over the warband though as Spider drove his hammer through the side of the beast's skull. It roared and toppled down the side of the temple. Loeb heard Lothar whisper "Bob was right...", but before he could respond the vampire turned and ran his sword through Maelzch's gut. Almost instantly, Spider yelled " begone creature of death, the power of Sigmar compels you!" The vampire hatefully glared at Spider before fading into the trees.

As the warband recovered the wounded Maelzch, and headed back to camp, Loeb glanced over at Spider, who somehow now seemed larger and more powerful. "Surely not," he thought "surely not..."

Crompton

I really like those flames you've done, lovely.
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Yep agree with Rob, the black lining really makes them look real
