which dont clarify anything, they only say what races can be taken together.

I assume it means that while you can take allies the rules for suspicious etc apply as will the rules on splitting powerdice, leadership etc.

They have now clarified it a bit further think I understand now.

You can take up to 600pts from an allied book, but you still can only spend a max of 25% of your total points on rare choices etc etc.

So you could take a normal army with no lord choices at all and then spend 600pts on a bloodthirster.

To Quote Mr Curry:

Your Army has to follow the normal rules for army selection.

So if you can fit a bloodthirster into your lord restrictions and still get a general for your normal army then your onto a winner!

Likewise, if your dark elves want 2 hydras it might be tight to fit in a Hellpit abomination

In summary,

Your General and BSB must be from the army that you are bringing.
All rule book selection restrictions still apply
Allies can' be from the same race (no trying to get around the rare and special duplications limit)
Allies do not count towards your 25% minimum core even if they are a core unit.

That's better but I think it's still a can of worms, IMO it would been better to do any list / SC OR allow allies..

This could get v confusing, as it stands any army can still take a HP bomb in it's rare slot?

Yes... as it stands.

Im a bit erm about it as its an invitation to bring the most hideous filth and claim 'hey i'll never get to do it again'.

I for one am sticking to the army idea I had the other day.... it'll be pony but fun to play!
