Unridden monsters with 4+ regen and 5+ handler wards are still pretty good  :wink;m::

I just want to play more games, I want to shove more blocks in peoples faces! I have a cunning plan for a lizardmen army now if I can just fit 2 slann into the points...  :))

It wasn't game breaking it is i like to have control and not throwing a load of dice for no reason.  I will give it a couple of games but not much hope.

I don't mind losing the issue is having control over the game.  But i will give it a couple of games.

Cmooon Rob I don't think I've ever met someone who takes it as personally when they lose. You rarely get angry or visibly upset but it's always obvious that you really take it to heart, regardless of whether you're using a rubbish army, have rubbish luck, or even are just outplayed. Just chill out, roll a bucket of dice and laugh at the result no matter what happens.

The way 8th edition seems to play I haven't actually cared a jot about the results, didn't tot up my game vs Reece, second ame vs Richard at Clapham game ended turn 5 from a single diceroll gave him the win, that was that. It's just a bit of fun... and so hard to take seriously.

We are a group of grown me talking about our preference of how we wnt to play with our toy soldiers.

Kind of puts it in perspective.

But we can all make the choice to play any game we like, I have no interest in hordes or warmachine, but I have heard a few players saying they will drop warhammer in favour so maybe it will work out, but I doubt very much that it will come even close to the fantasy tournament scene.

I play at more warhammer tournaments than anyone else in the UK & lose constantly, I carry on because I always have a great time (dwarf gunlines aside) & have met so many great people on the circuit.

Whatever you decide Rob, I hope it all works out.

Losing is a part of the game, and it happens but  i have been reading the rules and it is not jumping out at me saying i look cool.  Rolling loads of dice for me is not the important part it is the journey of the game and how things happen and solving the issues that come up.

If i want to roll dice i will  play yahtzee or perudo.

I will give it a couple of games but my cryx are saying paint me and i have a few hordes events to look forward to as well.

Mark the people who run the Hordes/Warmachine events are generally a lot of people who set up the UK tournament scene so i know a lot of them already as they have been put off by fantasy and to me it looks a nice way and it is all about tricks and combos and activating things properly rather than just rolling a bucket full of dice

indeed, Andy. I, for instance, will normally fully appreciate being totally outplayed by somebody who invented their own 'trick and combo', but in the glorious age of internet you just get some total tools or whatever you want to call them ruin your otherwise very enjoyable day at the games by simply using tricks and combos invented by the hive mind of some other tools who take certain things certainly too seriously, and with generally too much time on their hands. The kind of stuff that can really put a few nice people off the toy soldier scene.

Call me bitter, but give it a few tournaments and you will see the familiar faces behind a by-then-familiar, and speed painted, line of 'the new cheese'

Personal opinion and not in any person's personal direction.

And sorry for compacting a big chunk of my rant into one sentence. It's a lovely friday evening and I'm still in the office trying to deal with an unexpected 'wobble' of a very expensive indeed piece of engineering bling.

So when i used my Orcs at impfest and beat simrans vampires because i used hatred against him and frenzy for me was power gaming, and killing his vampire lord as i gave my mage the no ward save magic item was powergaming, who was riding a chariot.  The same army who had Tom on the back foot with his DEs T2.

I miss things like hatred/frenzy must pursue, being able to control frenzied units and other examples.  I have decided to give it a couple of games.

frenzy must pursue is still there mate

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

oh, i thought they both lost it but not being forced to chsrge with a re-roll ld test makes it harder to pull off.
