Probably the first of many, the Lore of the Wild (the beastman lore) is now available direct only from GW, only £3, out on the 24th of July...

From the look of it these will be one of the least purchased items GW ever made.  The lore of the wild still looks rubbish compared to all the other ones out there!

Not sure but at least one spell has improved dramatically, the 5D6 S1 attacks can now wound anything on a 6 whereas before they could wound T4 max.

Monsters beware!

And the high casting costs of the spells are no longer an issue, so the deck has improved dramtically IMO..

The one shame is the default spell, bestial surge stops you from charging, even though it does have more use in 8th Ed..

I've not read the new lores in depth but I think one of the Bens said on the Bad Dice podcast that there's only Steed of Shadows as a movement spell in the new lores and that can't be used to charge with either.

Now that charging no longer determines who strikes first I'm not sure how much of a drawback not being able to use magic to charge with is unless your unit really needs that +1 to combat res.

does the new lore decks have the same 6 spells as the book, or contain a 7th default spell.  Also, have they changed the spells to make them scalable like the 8 lores ?

Each lore has 7 spells, with one signature (default) spell. Most of the spells are different with only a few remaining steed, comet, fireball, all have scaleable casting values, effects, ie you can do a fireball with a 48" range that does 3D6 hits for on a 20+....

as steve pointed out yesterday, the pricing on the spell decks is a bit bizarre!

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

after re-reading my post, I realized I had omitted a very important word: "Does the new BEASTMAN deck have 7 spells etc etc...."
