I think I'm going to soldier on with the DEs. It's tough playing with an underpowered army, but I'll grin and bear it.

I have kind of accidentally just started a warriors army as well, because the models are awesome.

, Jack the main reason why i am still using the DEs as i am lazy and too busy to get enough games in to be confident with a new army.  Currently torn between Orcs and Beasts as they both look fun, both are painted badly so i will redo one.

Same here, the DEs are the only army I have fully painted so they're pretty much my default choice. My lizards are coming along though, I'm hoping they'll be ready for Tides or if not then the Dudley tourney after that. I'm looking forward to a bit of a change to be honest, I have played the elves to death this year!
Also the look of pain on my opponents eyes when I put 2 units of shades and a hydra on the table mean they're not great for making friends!

And by freaky coincidence both Lizzies and WoC have nails infantry which is meant to become really hard under the proposed 8th edition.  I know your game.

Was wondering if Rob would post up a thread.

I did two events with two different armies. Both of the armies I took sucked in one way or another. Either because I didn't have the models I wanted painted to use, or because I thought bringing a themed list to an event for a change would be a laugh.

I was wrong.

As I have found out, if your not happy with the army for some reason, then you won't be happy playing that list. Also, its the player on the other side of the table that makes the game fun or not (well, has a big influence).

I put a lot of work into my DoC army. Painting etc. Meant that for the first time I had options in what list I took. If I go for my DE army I only have the one build as that's what I first painted to get to 2250 and I haven't really added to the army much sine. WoC I don't have 2,250 painted (hell, I had to use Archaon, and a 380pt BSB just to make the 2k mark!).

So sod the bet - I lost. I'm going back to DoC. I quite like the list that John, Rob and I wrote. Going to have a muck around game with John using it, see how it fares.
