beastmen should be back in 4. they suck big time in 7th.

i've had a look though the indy gt book, and to be frank its just too complicated. not over powered (i don't think, would have to see some of it in action/ combos etc) but it just works so differently to most other armies (its not like dwarfs really, greenskins a bit but all have wacky rules, warmachines as complex as the skaven etc etc) that i'm now coming down off the fense on the side of keep them out. sorry lee, but with no model line making WISWIG harder and no easy comprension of capabilities they are too much of a wild card imo. Club and local games fill your boots, tornaments less so.
if you like dwarfs play dwarfs. if you like green skins aspect use orcs and gobbos, if you like mental warmachines use the skaven book.

Whilst I did not find the rules in the indy GT book that unusual I have to agree that I would prefer to see the basic ravening hordes list allowed at tournies as most people know what is in the list & there is only really two unusual rules (earth Shaker & blunderbuss).

I think the ravening hordes list is also not over powered (band b) & can be explained in a couple of minutes which is a lot easier than playing against skaven.

exactly, and tbh, the Indy GT book isnt that complicated, once you explain to you opponent 'this fires like a stone thrower and then has large tmeplate to half move' etc it's not that bad.  If it was used more, these things would be better known.

Also, at any tourney I take it to, I always have the attitude of "just keep asking, as i know it's an uncommon book"

@Tom - I'll have to play against you using it, then you can draw a more rounded conclusion!

I'd happily play against them, would be a nice change of pace to have a new army out there.

indy GT book is freely available and most tourney post up who's taking what before an event so there is even less excuse not to have turned the pages on it if you know in advance there will be a few players using it.  And unlike every other army out there you don't have to pay for that priviledge.  I've still never read the DE or Daemons books, but I know fairly well how they play and what they can take.

They're good fun to play against, and don't seem to overpowered - nice mix of troops and tactics
