Hey everyone

I played my first 6th ed game last night and thought this might be the right place to post some thoughts. I was playing CSM (with the 5 year old codex) and Seb was playing his Blood Angels and it was a 1750pt game which lasted some time.  :starwars: (Almost as long as this graphic)

1. I played pretty much the same army that I fielded in a competition last year and the CSM's appear to have became stronger. (Although I do concede my dice rolling at times was phenomenal)

2. Marines are quite hard to kill - the amount of 3+ saves both Seb and I made were huge.

3. The game was really exciting to play it was touch and go right up until it one side began to take control

4. Flyers and quad guns. Flyers need to avoid quads like they're pustulent lepers or ensure they're taken out first.

5. Whilst I see divination as one of the strongest psychic powers - telepathy's invisibility is none too shabby especially when cast on some plague marines!

6. My last point will be dice rolling luck. Given the number of saves Seb made over the course of the game I don't think he had bad dice rolling at all. I recall one point he was rolling 9 dice hitting on 5 and he made 8 of them (one because he got a reroll!) But that is not the point I'm making, however. My quad gun took out his Thunderhawk (intercepted on arrival) with four hits and 1 pen and 1 glance. The point I'm trying to make is that you can be lucky throughout the game but it's better to be lucky when you need to.

Anyhoo cheers for the game buddy and for those that supported and watched I hope you enjoyed it too

Pleasure mate and it was a very good game. Thankfully taught me some more about positioning and how to play a list I don't normally put up. Also, I got a bit slack in terms of how I usually play as a matter of course, but losing is often a good reminder for things that you let slip.

T'was indeed a close game with some epic moments. As previously mentioned however, I demand a rematch

If Ol isn't doing anything nesxt Monday for games, why don't you both have a clash? I'll spectate if no one steps up to my challenge.

I hope you're just lulling me into a false sense of security. Heroic defeat is what I seek. Always loved troll slayers. Every war since Thermopylae has been a disappointment for me. (I know the film's good but I can really recommend Steven Pressfield's Gates of Fire - the guy really knows his classical Greece)

I'm not sure I'm up for another game next Monday (definitely coming) I don't like the old CSM codex as I feel you have two choices of army really poor or quite filthy. But will probably bring my army just in case (not that I am easily persuaded oh go on then I have another one just a small gallon)
