deamons question

I was re-reading the 40k rules on deamons and i can't find any mention of them being able to assult in the turn they deep strike.  Is there something i have missed or have i been playing them wrong?

You won't find anything in the Big Rulebook. There is a specific rule in the Chaos Space Marine codex allowing summoned Greater and Lesser Daemons to assault on the turn they arrive. No other Daemons get this.

Yeah, 40k daemons are poo, turn up, get shot lots, charge with what little you have left.

And am I right in thinking the CSM summoned daemons are crap compared to the proper ones?

Yes, they're pretty poop but you can take the smaller ones en masse with lots of attacks (weight of dice), but you still have 2D6" scatter. I believe it's only the Lesser version that can assault from the Deep Strike.

correct seb yeah CSM ones DS with in 6" of icon and can assault

CSM dosn't affect me...... i plan on no allies........!!!!!!!

cheers guys, that dosn't stop me wanting to paint and play deamons, new 'goblin' army.  Hopefully the new codex will make them better (come on assult after deep strike!!!!) but i don't care i like the idotic modles iv come up with.  Wait for my deamon prince and soul grinder!!!!
