Beastmen - What shall I arm my Minotaurs with?

Ok so I'm finally putting together some decent, well decent for Beastmen, units together for my army, after assembling hordes of tedious of Ungors. The question is what shall I arm my Minotaurs with?

I reckon hand weapon and shield is the least useful option, not sure a 4+ combat save is that helpful?

Initially I was up for Great Weapons to give them a brutal Strength 7, but not sure if it's worth the extra cost (admittedly only 4 points a model) but more importantly the fact that I'm going to always strike last (if rumours about the 8th edition are true). Though on a reasonable charge impact hits should hopefully take care of at least one enemy, and with 3 wounds each an average enemy unit is probably going to struggle to take a Minotaur out so I should fight back with the full front rank?

Or it's the additional hand weapon, good option as it gives them extra attacks and rolling more dice is more helpful - particularly as this will be increased if they keep winning the combat. But at Strength 5 they are going to lack the strength to cut through heavily armoured knights.

Oh and another Beastmen question, what colour should I paint my Tuskgors? Thinking drybrushing Chaos Black basecoat with Scorched Brown and then with some highlighting further with Calthan and Khemri Brown, the others Bestial Brown and Snakebite Leather to give some variation. I think the Orc Boars are too brown for the Tuskgors hence why I'd drybrush over Black rather than over a dark Brown basecoat. Don't really want to go for greys as wood of the chariot is Chaos Black drybrushed with Codex Grey so won't stand out. Any other thoughts?

Gws. Statistically the only thing ashws work better on are t3 infantry. With the rumour of everything going in initiative order you are unlikely to suffer much by using gws as you will be striking last most times anyway. Plus it looks loads better

Piggie Pink?  To be honest it really depends on the rest of your army.  I've seen albino beastment so doing the boars a dark colour might suit them!

Answered your own question mate, we need S7 Minos to be our Knight killers, plus as Tom says they look much better with giant blades..

I'm always a fan of making them different from the beasties, so brighter, lighter but still dirty me thinks...

Cheers guys, great weapons it is - and you are right they look cool. To be honest I've had a lot of fun assembling the unit, and they look fun to paint so think I might treat myself to a second unit in the not to do distant future and they may get the second hand weapon!

Ta for the suggestions, think I'm going to combine these with the original idea. So highlight up from Chaos Black with browns, keeping that dirty look, and obviously I can stop when happy with the shade. And also paint the flesh quite Pink - not Tentacle Pink but Tallarn/Dwarf Flesh - add a bit of a light colour to the Beastmen army without them standing out too much. Pictures to follow shortly.
