So Ben, the cool guy who ran SVA XII is hoping to launch a 'Great Crusade' themed event this October. I'm trying to give backing cos it should be a right laugh.
From his mail out:
"Ok,

So I may be crazy (quite probably actually) but I actually want to run a campaign weekend set during the glory days of the Great Crusade. This is all predicated on the Spiky Committee saying yes, but Rob and I have checked into it and the 6th and 7th October the club is available for booking.

So what I'm asking is - would people be interested in playing in a campaign weekend similar (but not the same) to how SVA was run, playing games where mighty heroes you'd previously only read about fight nigh-on invincible alien warlords to reclaim mankinds manifest destiny amongst the stars?

It would take the form of two factions again - one side would be the Legions Astartes chosen using this codex -

The other would be the rest of the galaxy - a motley collection made up of the dying race of the Eldar, lost Terran worlds that sadly refuse to acknowledge the Emperor as their lord and master, bizarre alien creatures such as the Megarachnids of Murder, and of course the ever present threat of the Ork!

These would be supported by their usual codices together with a campaign codex which (if I get the green light) I will begin frantically writing!

I'd aim to have 20 players per side, and while it wouldn't be essential to have a beautiful army made entirely of pre-heresy models from Forgeworld, there would certainly be incentives for funky armies painted and/or converted to match the era we'd be trying to evoke.

So - 6th and 7th of October. Who'd be up for it - drop me a line and let me know so I've got some ammo to go to the committee with.

Ben"

Any interest?
