Ripped this from Trev's post on TWF, as we've not had a stellar response but it may just be people not letting us know from their respective clubs who all is interested.  But still plenty of space if anyone fancies some ETC style gaming in Edinburgh and even more so if you're Scottish and fancy going to the ETC!

We are currently on the lookout for new people to join the Scottish Warhammer Fantasy Battle team. There is going to be a meet with the aim of getting new people interested and to practice for the European Team Championships (in Switzerland) and 6 Nations Tournaments (in Scotland) and just generally have a weekend of gaming. You won't have to commit to any future events as your attendance will help by extending the range of armies and players we have to practice against.

The event is open to primarily to people interested and eligible to play for the Scottish Team (either by being Scottish, having a Scottish parent/grandparent or by living in Scotland) and be 18 years or older. This meet has has the intention of creating a player pool that the Scottish team for future events will be chosen from. Don't be put off by ETC based nature of the event, if you are interested in a weekend of gaming you will be welcomed.

The meet is to be held in the RAF club in Edinburgh on both Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of March. If you are interested in joining the team this is the ideal place to meet the current and former players and play a few games. There will be 5 games over the weekend, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, you can sign up for both days or either the Saturday or Sunday.

There will be space for up 24 participants (around 12-14 taken) and the cost will be £20 for the weekend or £10 for either the saturday or sunday.Your ticket price will include lunch.

give me a shout if you are interested and I will send you payment and event time and gaming details and ask you to answer a few questions.

E-mail Address

09:00 to 17:30
Sunday 6th March 2011
10:00 to 17:00

I might even sneak back into the team if we don't get many more people interested, the comedy of that is probably not lost on many!

Let me check my Diary Dave.....  Its possible I could be in St andrews that weekend so could be in Edinburgh for the day.

Plus i'd qualify on the basis of 'My Future wife, who happes to be scottish', forced me to consume haggis 3 times last week for 3 separate Burns night suppers.... so im currently 30% Scottish until the laxative kicks in.

Tom, just go on a night out in Glasgow.  Get blind drunk and walk around the town centre at 3am proclaiming how great England is in that lovely accent of yours.

I guarantee by the next morning you'll have more than a little Scottish in you.

Anyone is welcome to come along, last year we had a German and a Englishman playing for us as we couldn't get 8 scottish people interested in playing.  This year Mr Peckett is trying to get back into the team despite being 'Northern' rather than Scottish.

Obviously I'm nothing to do with the selection of who goes, and there is a requirement that the majority of the team are scots.

Garzini

well, my dad was 1/2 scots and my mum is scots, but me joining your team would be.... inadvisable!
