We kept deep striking the land raider, and keeping the other one in reserve, for a laugh. Not really going to win anything by doing that, but had a good couple of games.

Utter Filth Borland,  :bash;m: :wink;m::

Really goes to show the problems with 8th, worrying..

If it helps we hung our heads in shame when we collected our first place trophy!

But I did pick up some interesting observations.

1) template weapons are only really effective against low toughness, large blocks or hordes.
2) Cannons are only really effective against multi wound models
3) with anything wounding on a 6, warmachines can be taken down with regular missile fire.
4) Scouts can deploy 12" away from a warmachine & get a charge in turn 1
5) magic is very random

I think there are some very rock - paper -  scissors situations in 8th, I think it will be a better game, but it will definately need restrictions just as 7th did.

My thoughts so far anyway.

We were just talking about this rule, it was in thw WD BR and we thought it was a mistake

Quote5) magic is very random

I've found that it seems to be no wizard ever seems to fail to cast, unless it's the big spells, HE magic for instance is insane now with even a few dice in a low winds magic phase...

Urgh... that list that Matt took was total filth!

It looks like the run-in that he had with Ben Curry at SCGT has turned him into a total monster!!!!
In the style of Tom Hale... F*ck Ushabti!!!

Somebody had painted his Daemonhunters army in a Star Wars theme (Boba Fett as inquisitor, Vader as GK Grand Master, Stormtroopers as........) and insisted on playing the music whilst setting up his army and whenever Vader teleported onto the field. Annoying in the extreme, especially when he did it each game.

Justice was rightly served when his army was in the running for best painted and many people were heard to mutter "lovely painting, conversions and theme, but I'm not voting for it 'cos of that bloody music", myself included.
