Hey Guys,

I am very excited to be putting on an event in South West London (Putney Area) at the beginning of June aimed at promoting gaming. From card games and mainstream games to miniature games and war games! Other aspects gaining momentum are to organise workshops for miniature painting and game design!

The goal is to promote gaming in the local community as a great fun social hobby and to provide inspiration to the younger generation on a hobby that gets them away from their consoles and builds community, social and many other skills.

I am reaching out to invite members to be involved in this project. It should be a really fun day, and if any members are interested to spare some of their time, expertise or resources (games!), meet some new people and assist in making this day a reality to raise some money for children who would love to be doing this, I would be very grateful to get your messages!

As I mentioned earlier it is a charity event aimed at raising money, primarily through ticketing and raffles on the day.

The cause will be child victims of war zones, which I have written a little about below:

Throughout the world there are many children losing their families and futures as victims of war. Perhaps they lose their homes, a parent, or both parents, or an entire family. Girls often get sold off to underage marriages and boys to become child soldiers, both are open to horrific abuses due to their new circumstances. This often leads to a cycle of violence where the children become the perpetrators of violence for a new generation.

Charities such as War Child help to break that cycle. They help to relocate children with remaining relatives or adoptive parents, or to provide education and stability however possible. This helps to break the cycle of violence and contributes to brighter more peaceful futures for the children, their countries, their regions and the whole world.

Hope to hear from some people soon!

Hi Tristan,

Sounds like an interesting idea. I'll be down the club this evening and wouldn't mind a chat about it if you're around.

Hey Matt,

Thank for the response. I didn't get an email notification for your post so only just seeing this now.

I haven't actually been down to the club yet and don't know much about it. I'd been keen to find out. I originally approached the OGGames store through facebook and 'Ol' suggest I post here. Would love to talk with you about this. How would you prefer to go ahead?

You can private message me you email or number.
