So, after months of advertising here it is, all the top shows, all new series and the best dramas on telly, I got a little excited about A Game of Thrones (I know, sad, but the BBC seems to think sword and sandal is all about efeet boys in homoerotic peril, this at least looked gritty). So I looked at the schedule to set my Sky+ and could not see AGOT anywhere, yep Boardwalk Empire is there, but apart from that it appear to be episodes of ER, Thirtysomething and Star Trek Voyager, or, as we used to know it, Channel 4's daytime schedule!!

Dustin I think you might have lied to me with your smiley trailer, not what I was expecting so far!!!!!

Anyone else checked it out?

Yeah, I was slightly excited about it, until I realised I've already watched everything they will be showing...and I can re-watch it at any time I wish.   :wink;m::

Boardwalk Empire is fraking great btw.
There is no problem in life that can't be solved with Heroic Killing Blow:
Plague Furnace, Abomination, Hydra, Wyvern, Arachnarok, Engine of the Gods, Zombie Dragon, Vargulf, Hellcannon. To be continued...

If we assume that there are infinite universes, then in at least one of them, I'm banging Emma Watson. Awesome!

Just as a side rant, I do have a slight objection to everyone who sees things via a new way  ],-) and then complains about everything being cack, it is cack because no one is paying for it because of the alternate ways, you are directly to blame!!

It is like Bono banging on about how governments should put toward his charitable causes as he sits in his tax exile!! NO PAY NO SAY.

Here endeth the rant

I get what you mean, but the only market that matters in terms of viewership is the American market. Whether I watch it on Telly or not makes zero difference to the ratings the American Executives use to decide on this stuff, so I really don't care. If I was in the US, then I'd make an effort (but then I'd also be watching it as soon as it came out as well).

And for the reference, the only British TV show I can stand is Topgear and Black books back in the day both of which I watch(ed) on TV.

Here we have the perfect example of someone who desperately needs to see an episode of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. :))

Not so true anymore, whth the advent of digiboxes and the internet the American market is suffering as badly as ours and now almost all that matters is international sales, which is why HBO have done this team up with Sky, true that the American market is larger but so are the transmission and network costsshows are now often dropped if they are not sold to foreign markets, this is why we get all the US stars over here plugging programmes, which we never used to get.

The same is true the other way round, Torchwood is only returning due to a transatlantic production, and Doctor Who and Top Gear rely on international sales. US drama is so expensive the UK is a vital consumer.

Yep, but before we did not have access to a dedicated HBO channel, nice to have it all on one channel...

AGOT looks ace, apart from Mr Bean IMO, he is such a bad actor that I cant wait
till they cut his head off  :decapitated:
in the first series and then the good times will roll (superb pun there)
