Nah script is all modelled on, it's just incredibly well detailled and very sharply cast.  All I had to do was hit it with a wash and it pops right out.

Dave

Ok I really need to update this and take some pictures, thing is none of the units are exactly complete right now.  I've still got to add shields to all my saurus, my first terradon is done but doesn't have a rider yet.

I'm also trying to work out the best way to attach the skinks to the resin bases given they have tiny little contact patches and will probably come off the base unless pinned, but I'm not sure there is enough leg to get a pin into.  I hadn't thought about this when I started out, may take some solving!

Pinning a skink would be a nightmare, I think you should go with a very good strong superglue...

Dave

Right went with superglue option, will see how it holds up in transit but for starters we have my first usable unit!

If you're having trouble gluing them, you could sand down the feet slightly, just to make the contact areas rougher. This increases the surface area and makes them glue better - I've done this with anything I've stuck to a resin base or any metal I've cut with the razor saw as you tend to get very smooth surfaces.

thanks for the tips, those guys seemed to glue ok, so just done a unit of saurus too, but will bear it in mind if any start breaking off.

When gluing resin, I normally use a superglue & pva mix - the super to give it instant hold, but the PVA to grip in the long term.

Roughing the area to be glued is good too (as stated above), smooth areas lose contact easily.

Another quick update, this guy was being done for the OG painting competition.  I wanted a GW wielding guy for giving the jag charm so a small conversion from one of the temple guard and I reckon he fits the bill pretty well.

I got distracted into messing about with glazes on the metals down his back after starting out on a nice quick paintjob!  There are at least 5 different colours on top of the gold metal colour.  Worth it?  Probably not, was fun though.

Loving the Scar Vet Dave, looks awesome... i really like the effect that the glazes have added to the gold!
In the style of Tom Hale... F*ck Ushabti!!!

Finally finished off the saurus unit I've had sat for ages, just needed to do the shields on them.
