Yeah, always bugged me, when does it start counting as "before midnight" again
Painted total 2012: Bought:15  Painted: 74

At night he prances about like some sort of bearded West Country metalhead pixie, planting pink horrors in peoples' army cases and cackling while chanting his mantra, 'it's double sixes my love, take them off, just take them all off'

Haha, very funny! I got given a book about him for Christmas - it's almost like people think I'm a grump.

Update 47 – Thursday 16th February 2012: There's just nothing funny about High Elves.

Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed a slight change to the blog format – the title's gone green. This is because I've noticed the lovely white doesn't show up if you're viewing the blog on the Smartphone version of this forum, as it has a white background! So we're going to try green, though I'm undecided what colour too go for – you're thoughts please!

Regular readers of this blog, may have noticed a pattern to the updates. Yes there is actually some logic and planning! That being that I try and do one non-hobby related update and one hobby related update every week. Non hobby-land has obviously been more than covered in our epic Valentine's Day rant. But what about hobby stuff?

Well this presents a problem. I haven't started any new projects or units. I haven't finished the promised Dreadfleet ship or the High Elf Dragon. I haven't started a new army or bought any more models. I haven't learnt a new hobby skill or got excited about a new Games Workshop release. I've got no battle reports to write up and no armies to plan out. So what do I talk about? I did an army update last week, I can't do that again it's the same.

I have got a bit further on the Dragon Princes and the Archers, but that doesn't really seem like enough to justify one of my hobby-based updates. Hmmm. Usually I try and do something a bit funny.

Alright maybe not funny, but vaguely humorous. Everyone's a critic!

So here, in a desperate bid to fill up this blog and have something to say about my models, I present some jokes about High Elves that I have written:

Patient: Doctor, Doctor I feel like I should be pulling a Charican High Elf chariot?

Doctor: Well Lion the coach and I'll take a look.

Did you hear about the naming ceremony for the new Princes of Caledor?

It did Drag-on a bit.

Patient: Doctor, Doctor I'm turning into a Phoenix Guard?

Doctor: Well you've got the wrong place this is the National Health Service not the National Elf Service.

Why are Lothern Guard so useless at the alphabet?

Because they keep getting lost at Sea.

What is a High Elf's favourite type of tree?

A Silver Elm.

There you go conclusive prove that jokes about High Elves are not funny.

Oh well, it was worth a try. Here's where I've got to with the Dragon Princes and the Archers.

Stage 2 – Dragon Princes

Blue Cloth and Pennant: Layered Ice Blue
Yellow Cloth and Armour Trim: Layered Golden Yellow

Stage 2 – Archers

Base: *NO CHANGE*

Robes: Layered with 1:2 Astronomacian Grey: Skull White
Silver Metal: Washed with Badab Black
Gold Metal: Shining Gold
Flesh: Layered with Elf Flesh
Sleeves and Trousers: Layered with Ice Blue

Hair: Washed with Ogyrn Flesh (Vomit Brown base) or Washed with Badab Black Dheneb Stone or Calthan Brown base) or unchanged (Scorched Brown base)
Wood: Layered with watered down Graveyard Earth

So fingers crossed I'll think of something interesting to write next week, otherwise it could be the end of this blog.

P.S. Apologies in advance if this starts a deluge of replies featuring poor Warhammer based puns/jokes.

Don't apologise when you don't mean it. We know full well that's exactly what you want.

I sat on my own sobbing to a documentary about the 1980s aids pandemic in San Francisco.
I think that probably qualifies for an Anti-Valentine's day activity!

The one I told you about? Amazing film

Yeah I think so, on BBC4, it was called We Were Here.

Pretty incredible stories. Perfect V Day viewing I thought!

Is it just me... (and I'm quite certain it could be), but when you log onto the Forum at present and the advertising banner for the Merchant of Venus appears, do you for a brief moment see the face of Mr Blobby before your brain works out what's going on?

It's constantly freaking me out.
